Due Date Club November 2003:Hi.. pelvic pressure
2003-08-28
Name: Jaya

Hi all,
Few days back,I saw a post by Sri where she was telling about pelvic pressure and the subsequent replies by Avi and Vindya.Quite recently,I have also started experiencing pelvic pain which goes when I lie down and take rest.I don't get it always but I get it some or the other time everyday.I feel the pain especially when I am standing up after sitting for a long time.I find difficulty in opening the legs.I have gone to the doc yesterday. After the checkup, she said everything is fine with the baby,I have not gained excessive weight and she told me not to worry about the pelvic pain. But it is unconfortable and I don't know whether it will increase as the days go by.I read about it from the net and came to know it is known as \";symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) \"; in the article www*babycentre*co*uk/refcap/546492.html.Avi,did Kegel exercises help u? what did ur doc say?

Hey ladies...

I am in exactly the same position as Avi .. have been dealing with this pain for a while now. The only thing that provides relief is massage and a hot pack in the small of the back (tailbone).

My pain increases drastically when I have been sitting or driving for a while. (I drive an SUV and am tall 5'8\";, so stepping down was never a problem, but recently I have started using the little step the veh has. I feel like an old woman but it hurtssssssssssss). The exercise ball has also provided relief, as have hot compresses to the perineum. Hope this helps ladies!!

Hey Jaya, I've been dealing with the problem for over 2 months now...and kegal excercises didn't help much but what has helped me a little bit is resting...

I try not to sit for more than a half hour at a time and dont walk for extended periods of time either.and lie down whenever I can..I do feel the pain you describe (inabiity to open my legs)when I sleep...
I was planning to buy an exercise ball, cause it did help a lot when I was at my physical therapist....

My doc told me that it is because of the pressure applied by the uterus on the pelvis and from what she said, it will only get worse as the uterus grows.... :(
She said that prenatal yoga will surely help and also told me that swimming (or even just lying down in your tub) will help take the pressure off your pelvis and will surely help..I haven't gotten to try anything yet.. :(

I will read your article and see what it says...thanks.

Good luck

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
