Moms usually many times overfeed the baby as they think that he is not having enough food. this habit may be harmful in the long run. Different babies grow at different rates and eat different amount of food. If your baby is gaining weight and growing then you needn' t worry. overfeeding the toddler can lead to obesity which becomes a major issue when they grow up. Such toddlers also become a junk food addict when they grow up and may display behavioural problems. overfed babies have frequent indigestion problems and may also throw up. Eating routine also gets disturbed.

Toddlers can be fussy eaters. Parents need smart skills to make them eat every food. mealtime should be family time. Eating food happily with the whole family makes toddler eat his food happily. you must offer new foods along with the foods he likes, and also give him foods that are of right texture and right size. toddlers are slow eaters so they should be given time to eat. If they are allowed to feed themselves, then they would eat happily. You can allow him to use his fingers also as this would be a new experience for him and he may like it.

A toddler is at a growing stage so he must have a nutritious diet to meet his requirements. They have to try many new foods with different tastes and textures. They should have a balanced diet consisting of all food groups. toddler needs one cup each of fruits and vegetables each day. Give him different fruits and veggies everyday so that he does not get bored. For protein and iron requirements, he needs red meat, poultry and kidney bean. For calcium dairy products are best. try to offer a variety of healthful foods.
