Hi, im a mother of 19 month old twin boys. i speak konkani and my husband speaks hindi. they understand both of us well. and they speak about 10 to 12 words but more in konkani bcoz i spend more time with them naturally. but theyll learn both eventually. its the same with all bilingual babies. and its better to introduce a 3rd language like english at 3 or 4 yrs of age , bcoz by then ur childs brain is more receptive .

I think u should talk to her in ur mother tounge.
All the Best..

Hi! My kid is just 11 months yaar, he just speaks the universal language all kids speaks...dadadada ...:) no english, hindi, gujrati, himachali....it'll take time...

What i told u was some research that's been done. It said that the kids who are exposed to many languages are more ANALYTICAL. So, try teaching him when he understands...Anyway, he'll learn ur language faster ...that's my personal experience... ALL THE BEST...Thankfully Ma is the same in all languages :)

Love,
Anila

Hi KH,

I'm multilingual :)...just joking!!! actually my mom is gujrati, my dad is a bihari, i have done my schooling and engineering in haryana, i married a himachali, and work in Punjab...WHEW!!!

What about u? What language do u speak, and what language does ur husband speak? In any case, I have an advice...teach ur child both languages. He'll grow a smarter kid.

Regards
Anila

Hi Anila,
My mother tongue is Tulu and we also converse in Kannada at my place and my husband's mother tongue is konkani. We've been speaking with her in Kannada and Konkani. She is also exposed to English.Which languages did you teach your kid ? and does he speak well in the languages which you taught him/her? Did he/she have confusion while learning 2 languages ? How old is your kid ?

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
