Hi, I'm a working mom of a 8 months old baby. We are bilingual. I leave my baby at my in laws place when i go to work (12 hours work) and they talk to him in their language. I'm scared that I'll have communication problem with my kid if he doesn't pickup my language. Anybody has got similar problem or can I get any advice?

Your child will grow up learning two languages at the same time. It is good for their brain development. You should be proud and not worried. Relax and enjoy your babies childhood and growth. We all grew up learning two languages in India. Did'nt we?

it may happen that ur child learns ur husbands language faster than urs, but he WILL DEFINITELY learn urs too. just that he may take a little longer bcoz of the time problem. nevertheless, keep contzinuing to talk and blabber to ur baby when u do spend time with him.also, babies will pick up words faster when theyre about 15 month onwards.

we too r bilingual...and hv a baby..but u need not worry on that account if u too make an effort to talk to ur baby in ur language..babies hv an amazing grasping power esp wrt languages and the sooner u start off the better for the baby..so my advice is u talk to ur baby in ur language and let ur inlaws communicate in their language..the baby will do just fine..

Hi, Thx for the reply. How old is ur kid? Are you working? My problem is the time. I hardly have time with my kid. I leave home at 8 in the morning and come back at 8:30 in the night.

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
