Feeding:Feeding Cerelac rice for the first time

I am a first time dad and am blessed with a girl. she just turned 5 months old. We plan to start feeding cerelac to her. However, i thought i should get some basic doubts clarified to that we can feed her without any inhibitions.

Would be great if some of you can please help me in this regard.

I have gone through Aradhana' s thread above and have got some initial idea.These are my questions below.

1) What is the best course that we should follow for introducing her to Cerelac?
2) We plan to initially feed her some [1-2 tea spoons full] with the bottle feed we give her [Lactodex 1]? Is this a bad practice? If yes, why is it so?

3) Should Cerelac be directly fed without mixing it with Milk [Lactodex]?

Appreciate your inputs on the same.

Cerelac is been suggested by many doctors and it is been followed by many parents.You can see the labelled part with clear pictures and description.

Many parents would feed their baby with baby food product cerelac.And it is followed since decades by all mothers.It can be given to baby my mixing it in warm water.

There were two methods which can feed cerelac to baby.One is through milk and the other through warm water.You can mix cerelac in any one of that and feed that one to baby.

You had posted your doubts.So you can feed your baby with cerelac.But instead mixing cerelac with milk,mix it in hot water or warm water.That would be great and taste will be varied from milk to water.

When ever you got raised by any doubts for your kid you have to solve them by clearing it from the doctor then only you will be free from all the clarifications also and i wish you would do that also.

I think you should get your doubts cleared by a pediatrician. He will be able o explain you better about this.

Hello Vijay,
So it is very good to know that your baby will be feeding with the cerelac and you can feed the baby with all the food items and you just find about the food items and can feed the baby with them.

Hi vijay,
My daughter is in seveth month now.....we too were very tensed while intorducing celelac to her.Believe me as per doc advice we let her complete 6month and right from the end of sixth month onwards i started feeding her cerelac rice (with milk). Mix the feed as per instructions on box and you can also add one more spoon of boiled water to make the feed slightly runny. My daughter liked it alot (thank GOD!!!!). Mix it with hot boiled water and feed her while it is slight warm i.e just blow air with moth during every feed. If the food is slightly warm( not hot Ok!!)baby will accept it very quickly and show urge to have it more n more a that too very quikly.
Pls try it. I slowly started feeding her twice a day 4 scoops each.

Hi Vijay,
To answer your questions....
I learnt from doctor that any new food introduction is to be done in the first half of the morning, so that you can rush to doctor in case of any allergies..(which will generally not happen for cerelac kinds...)
Cerelac should be mised with water and you cal also mix fruit into it after sometime...
