I have 4 month old twins and as of last week, I was getting around 38-40ozs of milk per day where I did 1 or 2 sessions of direct nursing and rest of pumping. I increased the frequency to every 2 hours based on advise and during night I give 6-7 hrs of gap. I was doing well but unfortunately it is not the same anymore. During last weekend, I could not pump or latch regularly for 3 days or so. I did like long gaps and pumping every 6 hrs on one of the days and one day I couldnt get to my baby at all. My diet and sleep were slightly disturbed due to some get to gethers. On the 4th day after this, I had a tough time getting the milk out using the pump somehow it wouldnt get the milk from my left breast and it got so hard by the time I was back from work and my baby emptied it well. But from the next day on am noticing that when I pump the supply is not as fast as before. Earlier I used to get 4 ozs in 15 mins now it goes around 20 plus minutes is slow and I get around 3-3.5 ozs only. I use the Medela pump in style advance and I tried putting the pump now is a let down mode all the time and it helps a little. Also I noticed that am not feeling very full too. My baby latched yesterday and cried after 2 hrs for food where he normally would remain happy for 3 hours. All this is scaring me that when I was able to get the supply well just few days ago, is it going down by any chance? I started with the organic mothers milk tea, fenugreek capsules, alfalfa, blessed thirstle etc. as I heard from here and all other places. These helped me in the past, not sure if they are making any difference. I am worried as my babies love bm than formula (like any other babies may be) and I want to continue to feed them atleast for couple of more months. Please advise me on what I can do now. I am trying to pump every 2 hours during the day and did that yesterday have not seen a improvement yet. Please help. Thanks.

Hetal replied. your milk supply is bn disturbed because of not pumping since long,,so it wil take time for your body to understand that it needs to increase supply,,
other is the stress that you went thru in those couple days,,has made your body tired and because of prolong hours of not pumping milk,,your body got the signal that it needs to reduce the production of milk and thus,,it happend !!
watever remedies you are using they are not going to effect you unless your body and mind comes out of stress and the timing issues that you went thru...if i have understood your problem correctly,,i expect you to regain your milk supply in a matter of 20 days,,but yes, provided you keep pumping every 2-3hours without fail,,you are using excellent brand of breastpump so i have hopes to it !,,eathealthy and forget your worries about milk supply being less..you need to get out of that loop !
keep following the remedies that you are doing,,eeat a very healthy diet,,take rest whenever your babies are sleeping,,and ask your dr if you need ne multivitamins,,or so,,so that you regain your health,if at all its badly affcted by the stress you went thru or may b that now your body needs a good boost of nutrition !
other than that, most mothers experience low milk supply from 4th month onward and your situation might have triggered that phase,,, milk supply doesnt end in days,,it takes months for a healthy woman body to stop producing bm,,so continue efforts at your end,,,check your baby weight and see if ne decrease in their wght means they need some formula feeds,,ask your dr about it,,,continue sticking to pumping schedules and pump the milk until you see the last drop of milk,,empty your breast fully, wear loose bra,,and comfort yourself with a good pad...munch something while you pump milk,,or drink water while pumping,,,
all this should help you !!
take care,,good luck,,stop worrying about it,,dont get into the loop that bothers you !

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
