Hi,

Thanx a ton mel and others for answering my queries. I have a 14 month old daughter. I wanted to know can i continue giving her cereals...like wheat and banana...and 7 mixed cereals that we get in the market. IS it meants only for small babies would it do any good to her now. She really likes them and as cereals for brkfast thrice a week. My daughter is really underweight can u suggest something that i can give her the would help her increase weight. She is 14 months and 9 kgs although her birthweight was less tooo she was 2.5 when she was born. Plzz answer my query. thanx byee

Yes, you can continue giving her cereal. There' s no problem. It' s just carbohydrates and milk. You can also try giving her cornflakes or oats with milk as a variant. What does your doc say about her weight. It seems fine. Some children are thin or a bit underweight, but they are strong and sturdy. So, as long as she is active, cheerful and her height and weight are in the normal range, don' t worry. I know it' s only natural. But, she will be fine. Just ensure that she has all food groups... as much or as little as she wants. She' s now a toddler, and she will eat very little. Sometimes toddlers will even eat one bite in a day. Remember to offer her meals on time, but let her eat as much as she wants.
