Hi!
My 2 month old daugther Kavisha tends to vomit a lot after most feeds. I am breastfeeding her as well as top feeding her with formula. She is very colicy at times. Can someone tell me how I can control her vomiting? Is there anything food I should elimanate from my diet?

hi krishika,

my 6 month old son used to spit out a lot of milk... the doctor said if his growth is ok and if he is active... u should n ot be worried... so if generally kavisha is healthy and happy.. dont worry... u will learn slowly when she has had enough... when there is air trapped in her tummy etc... for the colic.. one of my friends tried eating sua seeds (dill seeds)... she said it made a big difference.. u can also give your daughter the dill seed water...if u r in india u might not hv a problem to find it...

My daughter used to have the same problem I used to seek for help. There are couple of things you should look for 1st thing dont over feed her if you are breast feeding her if she is throwing up after drinking for 15 min give only for 12 min that will help her to keep what she take and you can feed her more often and another thing you can do is give enfamil formula designed for kids who throw up.It worked well for me and check if your baby is allergic to lactose. Some kids who have lactose intolerance and if you try to give normal milk they will start throwing up and they will develop colic.Talk to your doctor

hi krishika,

is she spitting or vomiting? spitting a lot isnt? that is normal if they r overfed. dont worry for that. it will happen. burp her inbetween the feedings. that willhelp her to release gas and the food fed will not come out afterwards.

with love

Krishika, is the vomit curd like or watery milk? If it's curd-like than it's a good sign so they say. If watery then you may need to check with a doctor. I doubt that changing your diet will help. I tried cutting down on a few things from my diet to help my baby's colic but it didnt seem to get any better. One piece of advice that I got from friends is to eat everything so that the baby gets used to it. Try out 'Bonnisan' for the colic - it works miracles with my daughter. Good luck !
