u r doing gr8. try introducing some fruits and veggies too.
try stewed apples .... i used to core and cut the apples and then steam them for 15 mins. the skin comes off easy after steaming. mash up the steam apples or puree them. They are very good for the kid and will provide lots of fiber.
You can also try soft papaya/ banana.
Try veggies other than potato. Try pumpkins, steamed/boiled and pureed.
Also carrots in the same way are gr8.

slowly try introducing grains other than rice.

All we new moms are excited in trying new things, but pls dont make drastic changes. Introduce one new item, see how it goes with the kid , how her bowel movements are, chk for signs of allergies and them after 4-5 days try sometime else.
All the best...God bless

well sarah, from my experience, my kid , by God´ s grace, hasn´ t had a problem having banana or curd at night... actually from the time i started giving her curd, i used to feed her the same both for lunch and dinner. And yes, i have given her banana with milk( and a tsp or 2 of rice cereal) @ night. So far there hasn´ t been a problem.

dont worry dear.... i know we working moms always feel guilty abt dont doing enough for our kids.... dont worry u r doing gr8.I had raised the same concerns with the dr. and she said breastfeed in the mrgn b4 u go for work, and in the evenings whn u r bac
hk. And during the day time add milk/milk based products to her meals. Thats how i started giving yogurt/curd to her.

suji is good for her. I used to alternate ragi/oats/suji so that she wont get bored.

dear sharon, i agree that breastfeeding is the best. and i´ m not feeding formula to my baby. but as i´ m a woking mother, i feel very much guilty that during day time i can´ t breastfeed my baby more than once. :( all the time i feel scared that her milk intake is less and she´ s not getting proper nutrition. :( can you suggest whether i can give suji to my baby? is it healthy enough?

and once again, thankssss alottt.

dear sarah,
my kid never bottle fed, and it was ( and still) is a struggle to get some milk in. What i did was to get her milk in different forms, like some goes in her cereal for breakfast. Curd for lunch and dinner.Grated paneer in the roti... an occasional slice of cheese etc.
When she was around 6 months old, i used mash half a banana, add a sppon or 2 of rice cereal and 2 oz of milk(formula). I used to add 1-2 oz of formula to her oats or ragi ( add it in the last stage and dont let it boil). These were the only ways , i cud get her to have formula feed. And yes, small pieces of bread dipped in milk.

ANd more over, other than the fixed breatfeeding schedule, i used to feed on demand. Sarah trust me, breastfeeding is any day much better than formulafeed. your kid will be healthier. i have personally seen the difference
