Feeding:Stem cell banking - please help

Name: Naresh Agarwal

Dear All,

We are expecting a baby in 3rd week of this month and contemplating to go for stem cell banking.

I found that there are several (given below) private banks for stem cells in India. But I am not sure which is the best one given that stem cell storage will be done for couple of decades.

Has any body taken stem cell banking? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1. LifeCell International Pvt. Ltd.
2. Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. - Relicord, Mumbai
3. Cryo Stemcell Karnataka Pvt Ltd., Bangalore
4. StemOne Biologicals Pvt. Ltd., Pune
5. Cord Lifesciences India Pvt. Ltd., West Bengal
6. New Hope Medical center, Chennai
7. Cryobanks International India, Gurgaon
8. Stemcyte Inc, USA

Best Regards,
Naresh

Hi Naresh, It would be good to talk to your hospital itself from where you are going to get your wife delivery done. They will help you in getting blood from a good blood bank just pay them extra of needed.

Choose a bank that would be easier to reach when it is needed. If you choose a bank that is good but you can't have access when needed then it will be of no use. Research a lil more about them and then choose.

According to my knowledge stem cells banks and everything about stem cells is new and not known to everyone quite well. A doctor that is your gynac or a pediatrician can help you the best in selecting a good bank.

I would suggest you to opt for LifeCell International Pvt. Ltd. They are the most trusted stem cell banks, which safeguards your baby' s stem cell at affordable prices. It has given me a lifetime opportunity to secure my child' s future health. I appreciate the service provided by lifecell, as the executive person was present in the hospital within an hour of the phone call before delivery.

Hello Members,

I am 5 months pregnant and am keen to bank my baby' s stem cells. I asked my gynaec for her opinion. She told me its a great step I would be taking. When I asked her for which stem cells banks are the best, she recommended LifeCell International. I trust my gynaec and so am planning to go ahead with LifeCell. Does anyone have more information about them? I have heard they are India' s first stem cell bank. Any other inputs from you would be beneficial.

Thanks. :-)

Priyal

i dont think it is as expensive as anu has writen.i also stored my cord blood in cryo bank gurgoan.but u must negociate with any services because they reduce their price after negociation.and if u dont want for single time payment u should pay by instalment.i met all rep.of these companys and didnt find any major difference.and there was no specific reason for choosing cryobank.and i think in the present senario when we find new deases every few days and new devlopment in madical field then one must go for it.
bye
all the best

Why do want to go for it ? A friend of mine got it done recently and it costs over a lakh. 2 lakhs was his total bill ( delivery + stem cell culture ).
