Eating Problems:Hates eggs
2008-02-08
Name: Shikha

Hi,
My daughter is going to turn 3 soon. She is a very fussy eater...but one thing she loved eating was boiled eggs, which i used to give her 3 times a' week. But suddenly she has developed a repulsion to it...she refuses to eat it any form. i hadn' t given her eggs for the last 2 mnths...but few days back when i tried giving her boiled eggs, she still refused to eat it.

I dont understand why she is doing it? Is it just a phase?

try to give her french toast i.e. add 2-3tsp of milk and 1/2tsp of sugar in the egg and dip the bread in it. Then pour some oil in the pan and put the bread and the remaining egg mixture on the bread. make it on low flame. hope it works!

Dont force her. Do this.
For a week, just let her forget abt eggs completely. Then try again after a week with her fav egg recipe. Do it by making her bysu/engaged, for eg, you and she sitting with a new colorful book or toy .. take a variety of 2-3 eatables in a dish and start feeding her ... (dont make them mix of tastes like sweet salty ... keep all similar to the egg dish ... we want to avoid her attention to food and diff taste may make her attentive) ... and during that meal, try feeding her egg and check her reaction. If she spits, dont force. Try once again lovingly ... or may be showing to urself/daddy how tasty it is .. let them act ... and then try again.
If she is still stubborn .. quit.
Try again after a week. Meanwhile, this time, u can try raising her anxiety about eggs by showing her colorful pics of egg recipes .. may be cooking them eactly like in pic for ur hubby and u ... and both of u just ignore the child ... make a drama ... tell ur hubby that u hv cooked a wonderful dish, and u and he shd sit and eat and little bit overact showing how yumm it is ... make sure child is watching and also show her u r ignoring her.
We are trying to lead by example ... if you try to force her, she will repel.

Good luck ... and if she doesnt hv the eggs .. go ahead and indulge into the proteins yourself .. avoid the starch though!! :-)
