hi..my 8months old boy throws up after every feed even now.was told by the doc that once his digestive system stabilises,all this shld settle down...well dont know if its long enough for the system to function normally...has anyone faced this problem with their child? puja replied. hi, my son was facing same problem when he was 8 months old....now he is 11 months old and i am happy he has started eating solid food untill last month he was only on lactogen milk....2 monts back i was asking same question to every mom i meet about his habbit of throwing up every solid food i try to give her..i used to get frustrated and discouraged a lots of time as at home i have no one to help me, these tips helped me:-
1.try giving him cereal first ( i gave him oats with milk- boil them and add pinch of salt as he likes salty food more then sugary guess he is feedup with sweet taste of his formula milk, he need varity......
2. i bought small steel coffee spoon from mkt which is suitable for his small mouth.
3. he was teething that time so had lots of upset stomatch. so i started solid food after his upper 4 and down 2 tooths comes out properly.
4.being alone in house with no help around this is what i did., i show him his fav CD on my PC., strap him on high chair in front of PC and tried giving him OAts with milk., it worked he took 3-4 spoons on 1st day without spitting up., then i make it a regular practice., now he opens his mouth for everything.,i am still trying everyday with new foods but still he is not drinking any fruit juice., as he thinks botle is exclusively for milk.

2ndly, feed very small quantity at a time because he is facing the problem of reflux.

give him a finger food & let him chew himsel. this will tell u at what rate he can actually eat & at what rate his body digests.

Even i had the same problem with my son. DOes he throws up solid food? I had to mash everything by mixer up so well before i feed him. This continued almost till almost 18 months, after that only he is able to eat solid food mashed by hand. Even after mashing it in the mixer he used to throw up, dont worry he will be fine after few months. I can understand what you must be going through, as with so much of difficulty i used to feed him and at the last spoon he will throw up, this used to happen not every day but atleast once or twice a week. take care everything will be fine.
