We are proud parents of samrudhi now. She came home in the first week of october and there are lots of her friends who are waiting for a home. If any one is interested in adoption from maharashtra (where the waiting period is less than 6 months) I can guide them about the procedures.

Can I adopt while on H1B visa!

Hi Nirmala,

Congratulations!!!

We are also interested in adopting a baby from India. What was your visa status in US when you brought Samrudhi home. Can you please advice us whether we can bring our adopted baby to US while we are on H1 visa? I have read on some blogs that to get H-4 visa for adopted baby, we should have lived with our adopted baby in India for atleast 2 years before we can apply for H-4 - Is that true?
