Hello Simi,

Its nice to know that you are interested in Adoption at a early age.

Although you cannot start Adoption procedures as a single person till you have attained a age of 30 years.

You also need stable income, job to start the process by the time you reach the age.

It does take time to Adopt, but it should not be a demotivating factor.

can u please tell me da adoption process i have already spoken 2 my lawyers.. i am 23 years old i am working as well studyin... at present i just earn 11-13k per month.. and also m it engg looking out for some good company job,, were i can get better sal.. i want to adopt a baby girl age between 0-1 year wat can i do and procedure i am very much keen to know about it... my family members knows abt it... some saying it take around 1 year for the adoption process to go.... is it rite or wrong..can u please tell me???

Hello Harini, Amante and Asiangal,

Congratulations on your decision to adopt.

Single ladies/ girls can adopt.
Prospective adoptive parent(s) should register themselves with the local RIPA/LAPA or Adoption Coordinating Agency or with the State Adoption Cell.

Once you have registered yourself for adoption either as a single parent or a couple, the agency where you have registered will take up the whole responsibility till the whole procedure is over. They will guide you through the whole process.

Each city in India has registered agencies, which can be got from the internet.

I hope I have answered the basics. Please do let me know if you still have further questions or concerns
