My one and a half month old baby vomits a lot. She drinks more milk that she can handle, i guess. She feeds for 5 mins every one hour when she is awake (night times),and, even when she sleeps(day time), she wakes up every 2 hours to be fed. When i take her to burp, she vomits out. Sometimes, she vomits the milk she just had. Otherwise, she starts crying when put down, and, when i just lift her, she vomits some curd like thing.. She is gassy, so, i have to lift her in upright position only.
More over, For the past one week, she has picked up this habit of crying continuously for an hour or two in the night time.. and, the only way she seems to stop that is by feeding.. And, she is latching on the breast for all the time, drinking and vomiting... So, both her clothes and mine always have this stinking vomit smell.. Please help !!! Hetal replied. curd like thing,and its very smelly as you mentioned is a sign of gastric reflux..often babies younger than 3 months suffer from acid reflux..its nothin to worry, but is very common. Why?

try this,,,eat really well and try to sleep well..you wont feel comfortable...
so here is what you will do,sleep either side ! right,,do same with baby...make her sleep on her right side ! and then the next on the left side.do it alternately, just make sure that he doesnt happen to tumble on his chest...
also, make her sleep elevated,,elevated in a sense that his head abit high above his body level..tug a thick nonflufy folded blanket,,and let him sleep with head rest on that blanket..c if it helps..
also, make sure that when your baby is vomitting, he is not in pain !!!! like crying and vommittings..if he is just spitting, its ok..wait until 3-4 months..often after 4-5 months babies get out of these refluxes.
also, giving mylicon if you are in US or himlaya bonison gripe water if you are in India, once a week is good one to try.my friend baby felt better with gripe water, however other friend baby was good with mylicon,,so i guess it depends on babies.
also,since you are breastfeeding,gastric refluxes and stomach upset is also caused in babies due to mothers food intake..try reducing strong foods like spicy,too oily, or ne foods that are hard to digest,includes eggs,nuts and hard lentils or like rajma,chana..
for my baby, she was sensitive to rajma,everytime i had it (it was my fav),,she showed refluxes ! just like you said...same spitting and curd like thing...
c if that comforts her..

my son who is 3 months old had the same problem.i used to give him neopeptine syrup after consulting the pediatric.now the problem is solved.if ur baby cries during night it means she is not getting sufficient milk .kindly check with it and start formula(NAN1) immediately.
