Due Date Club December 2005:climbing stairs

Hi Everyone,

I stay in an independent house where my bedroom is on the first floor and kitchen in the ground floor. I end up climbing up and down the stairs atleast 10 days a day. Am 24 weeks pregnant and have a low lying placenta. My family has been suggesting that i move to the room on the ground floor and avoid climbing stairs. But i really don't want to shift 'coz i like my room and space on the first floor very much....what do you all have to say about this?

Hi Greeshma,
Please don't do this.. atleast for few days shift ground floor. And once your gync confirms that everything is fine then you can shift back to your room. You can visit your room once or twice a day so that you will not feel bad.
Right now I suggest you to listen to the advice given by you elder.. Its just few days only..

Hi Greeshma,

I think its better to be careful from our end especially at this juncture. You could probably make an effort to restrict yourself downstairs as much as possible. Bring all your regular usage items down and you could probably go up only at the end of the day. I think if you make it a habit then it wont seem so much of a task, you'll just get used to it.

Best,
Raji

Hi Greeshma....
I think the best person to ask is ur doctor....GO by the doc's advice..Also try and limit your travels up and down..bring some of the stuff u use in ur bedroom downstairs for everyday use..
Hope this helps..

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
