1 week she eats well and next week, I will be lucky if she has 1 proper meal in whole day. but this is how fussy eating kids are. my doc says nothing to worry they wont be under nourished or weak. they will get better as they grow.
do ur job keep offering variety food and innovative and creative ways of feeding her.
stop expecting her to eat well all time accept that they are fussy eating and as i said keep trying and be read y to fail everyday, someday they will get better. this change of mindset gave me peace of mind.
hope it helps u
Mel replied. Hi Esha. I understand what you are going through. My son is exactly the same. He' s 15 months old now and is such a fussy eater. It seems as if he' s hungry all the time, but when I offer him milk or something to eat, he refuses. It can be VERY frustrating and infuriating, but it' s NOT THEIR FAULT. They aren' t doing it purposely. Just offer her different things. You will find that there are atleast one or two things that she will accept. If that is so, give it to her whenever she is hungry. Don' t bother if you are giving her fruits 3 times a day, rice cereal or corn flakes. It doesn' t matter. Just let her eat. There are days when my son will eat only 2 katoris of dahi all day long. He DOES NOT DRINK ANY MILK. He still wakes up for a feed at night, so when he' s quite groggy, I give him milk. He doesn' t have more than 3 oz. but something is better than nothing.
But, I have identified one thing that he has - Nestum Rice Cereal (It is supposed to be given with milk, but he won' t have it that way, he will have it only if it is mixed with water). He doesn' t even have vitamin or iron drops, so I give him some Nestum Rice mixed with water, add some multi-vitamin drops to that and he has that.
If nothing else works, put her on a clean surface, give her a plate and spoon and put some dal chaval on the plate. Let her mash it, squeeze it, etc, she may even put some in her mouth. Applaud if she does. Else when she' s busy playing, pop some food in. She may not even realise.
I completely understand what you are experiencing. But, they really don' t do it purposely. They themselves are hungry, but don' t feel like eating what is offered. It happens to us too. Give her different things to find out what she likes. Maggi noodles, dahi, dal chaval, biscuits, mashed fruits, buttered veggies, anything. She will be ok. Sometimes I think our mother' s patience is REALLY tested to the limits. But, we are the only ones capable of handling this kind of pressure. Your daughter has faith in you and only you - to fulfill her requirements - not any expert, not any doctor or other mother, just YOU !
