hi Pallavi,

I just read your reply to me in the post below..seems you are also a bit tensed like me regarding your daughter' s refusal to eat..after i read all your posts..i felt bit relaxed n easy..i tried various tricks on my baby and played with her..she was again refusing food yesterday..but i was determined to be smiling and be patient..and guess what ? she ate all three meals that i offered her..though she ate only half, i was so happy that she atleast ate..one thing i tried for her is that i made her hungry more yest..i.e i increased the gap between her meals so that she can eat n it worked..so you also just be patient, have faith in god..e' thing will be fine..babies are never the same e' day their behaviour keeps changing that is what i learnt yest.
as a mother its upto us to be calm n give them the best in e' thing..ya we may become depressed again if this problem again but we have remind ourselves that we r their for our babies n our babies need us a lot..
i hope this helps..by the way it seems from your surname that you are a gujarati. is it? i m also gujju . now in bangalore..where r u located ?

Subject:  routine..

hi there,
your daughter is nearly 7 months old..
here goes my routine..
she wakes up at 7 am-- feeds on BM
9-9:30-- breakfast - either cerelac or rice or ragi porridge (all natural and homemade)
1 pm-- lunch-- rice with curd n veggies
5 pm--banana with youghurt or milk..mashed ofcourse
8:30 pm-- khichadi with veggies or dal with veggies ( moong dal)
veggies i started are spincach carrots and corn..
i m struggling a lot with fruits. she likes only bananas..u can try mangoe puree with yoghurt..papaya. apple and muskmelon..hope she eats..
in between this routine i offer BM irrespective of her demand..6 am morning..7 am..(she is desperate for BM only in morning) then at 4 pm and then at 7 pm..
u can try out my routine..to start with introduce her 2 meals a day and so u will cut down 2 BF sessions..let it go like this for 10 days or so..then eventually introduce one more meal say breakfast or snacks..so one more session will decrease..be systamatic in timings..go gradually..no hard n fast rules..just follow your baby' s appetite..
make her play after meals so that she gets hungry for another..have a gap of 3-4 hrs between meals..in between them offer BM..
if your daughter' s routine is haphzard then start with good routine right from morning taking a new day..offer only one type of foods for 5-6 days continously and then change the menu..coz starting n trying new things e' day makes babies confused and they end up eating less..
i have made that mistake in past n so i m going slow with my baby..
just be patient and calm ..things wil fall in place with time..i hope my reply helps you in some way..do tell me your experience..
regards,
puja mehta..

Subject:  ragi

hi ´

ragi is a cereal like wheat n rice..it highly rich in iron calcium and other minerals..very good for all age groups..esp for infants..its called ragi in gujarati , nachni in hindi and finger millet in english..i give ragi porridge wherein sprouted ragi is dry roasted on tawa and then powdered and passed thru sieve to make poweder which can be stored for couple of months..this powder is then mixed with milk and jaggery to make porridge for infants..
ragi powder is ready made also available in india for infants under diff brands..Nestum is one such brand form Nestle..it is also a infant cereal without milk..in different flavour like rice, ragi and rice ragi veggies etc etc..depending upon age of baby u have to choose.
i think nestum wont be available in USA..u can try home made porridge in that case..
bye
