i m feeling really sad..my baby girl who will turn 7 months old in few day was eating e' thing that i offered her..i weaned her when she was 5 months old..few days back she started refusing her food..no lunch no dinner.no snacks ..she will only have BM..i m not producing enough BM..whenever i offer her food she turns face away..starts crying or shuts her mouth tightly..as if she doesnt like the spoon that i bring towards her mouth..i guess this problem started coz few days back i tried to feed her forcefully..from then on she has started hating food it seems..i m really worried as to how will she thrive if she doesnt take food..she is as such underwt for her age..i m depressed a lot..i just fear to give her food coz it has become habit to refuse food..i try to remain calm but still she is the same..pls help me out..i m really feeling low.. I read all ur queries before.It seems that u and i are sailing in the same boat.My daughter,too ,will turn seven on 2nd aug.She also use to eat eveything i gave her but now she refuses.She is not eating anything.And to top it all if i engage her in games,songs,toys etc she takes the fruit/veg/dal puree in her mouth but will not close her mouth and swallow.several Minutes(5 or more) may pass and still she wont shut her mouth for swallowing.What should i do?I m also tensed.My daughter is also underweight her age.Pls help !!! smita replied. This is just a phase,every mom has to face this now or then, make him busy while feeding like give a toys that he will busy playing with it,give her a bowl and spoon to play..sing some nersery rhymes which she likes.. take her in stroller to outside when she will busy in looking at people u give the food..
try all these tricks...
best of luck mandeep replied. trust me dear this is just a phase n will pass and as a mum u r suppose to worry.I really wish some time there is on and off button so that u have control over babies. well now on point, tell her story or poem do actions n she will smile at that time put the spoon of food in her mouth.sing a song she will like it give her steel bowl n wooden spoon let her play while u feed her, do peek a boo with big seive so that u can see her through the holes she will try to grab that give let her play n u can keep feeding food.I use to do this also like i use to pretend that i am bringing water to clean my son mouth that use to be woith left habd n he use to open mouth totaste the water while right hand already had a spoon full of food.these r some ideas which i use to use n still use when my son refuse for wood.one thing more babies r very smart they do figure out what we mums r upto so u have to try different ideas or may be all in one meal.
2 ) see if u rfeeding her same thing again n again she will get fed up of that taste, cook some thing new for her dear.
