Hi Mandeep,

I read about your feeding ideas on this site which are helpful.

My dd just turned one and she is apoor eater....weighs only 7.6kgs.

I want to introduce cheese, butter etc .....canu u give me some ideas asto how to feed these as she has only 2 upper and 3 lower teeth....for eg how to give buttered paratha or buttered toast etc.

I stay in india and can u suggest good branded cheese and butter for babies.

Please give me some recipes for breakfast lunch and dinner keeping in mind her 5 teeth (how to feed such hard toast and veg parathas)

Thanks a lot.

Madhu

My 15 month old son has just 2 upper teeth. Even children who have many teeth use their gums to chew. They use the teeth only to bite off pieces of food. So, I give him small bits of soft roti / paratha, soft bread, small chunks of soft fruit (banana / melon, boiled apple/pear, etc)
My son has Amul butter and Amul Cheese. You also get Britannia Cheese, but he didn' t seem to like it. He likes to eat Dahi Chaval (full grains, but boiled well).

lucky u at least 5 teeths r there my son will be 17 months old end of this month n only has 3 poor lil thing. hehehe.
well i have never toasted bread just give him fresh soft bread with butter n regarding cheese i grate it be4 i gave him.
i have no idea about which brand is good regarding cheese etc. in india i guess i know only about amul butter
hope any mum from India can help u dear.
i have only gave chapati 4 or 5 times with plenty of butter he is been ok but not keen, that also i have started recently otherwise he use to gag.
when he was the age of your daughter i use to only gave him puree food
like vegetable puree, rice n dal puree mix with full fat curd, even use to make pasta n use to puree it n use to add cheese in it but he was n is happy to eat cheese as on its own then putting in pasta he is not happy eating creamy food (like is mum)
same with fruit also. we get hipps organic range of baby food n they have pureed pear, apple, banana and mango melba, peach and banana dessert etc n he use to eat them he recently started eating lumpy food .
u can make rice n chicken puree them mix with curd n add lil bit of salt n butter as this is very bland to eat to give some taste. u can give anything to your baby if she is happy to eat the way food is then that' s great otherwise puree it or mash it. u can start her with breakfast cereal in the morning make sure it has some flavour as she might hate corn flakes go for chocolate n see if she like it.try to make full fat custard u can add sugar, same with kheer also, give her to eat full fat curd, paneer is anothere option but i have not try that yet as we get horrible paneer here not good like india.if your LO is not happy to eat lumpy food yet so pl. dont force her i never force my son to eat lumpy food instead respect there wishes. as u said u have read the feeding ideas /recepies which i keep writting u can try those dear n see.
