Feeding:7 Months Baby Diet
2008-06-12
Name: Manjeet

I live in a small town and do not have access to brocoli and other rich vegetables mentioned in several places.

Can you suggest some good diet (non-gerber) or non-packaged home made foods for my 7 months baby

She is currently being fed milk via bottle since she is with her grandparents now. Can we feed her grapes, etc., what fruits can we feed her and what we cannot.

Can we treat her to curd and buttermilk? When we ask relatives around here, each gives contradictory opinions.

Also, the baby is not gaining weight. how to gain weight and what natural foods to eat. breakfast, lunch and dinner.

it might be a often repeated topic. If so, do kindly direct me to the links on this site.

fruit such as pears, apple, mango, banana can be given to baby it can pureed or mashed.
I am scared with grapes as baby can choke on them if u want to give them to your baby try to chop them in 4 pieces.
not sure about butter milk but curd yes go for with with pureed fruit or just plain.
u can give her rice kheer, suji kheer, custard
I do agree with Sonia as she says milk is must, give her taste of everything but milk should be priority.
just under your post there is post reg. 6 months old food go thourgh that u will get some rough idea reg. vegetables and lentil. etc.

Hi Manjeet...you can give khicdi(rice +dal with lil haldi in blended form),yes surely now u can give curd, veg soup, banana mashed with fork,grapes....
but milk shud be given teh priority as she still needs milk as the main food till age of 1. I have never given packed or gerber foods to my baby..i have alsway given homemade food..u can have ragi also....

as long as baby is active ne need to worry about weight gain even my baby is not chubby and everyone keeps on tellin me weak hai but now i don' care as he is active and achieving his milestones
