My 15 month old won' t eat anything properly. If i force feed him somehow he manages to throw up everything.I am really tired of feeing him.I feel like hitting him. Some time i shout at him.I feel really bad if he cries after that.It has become very tough to feed him.I have no energy after a point in time.

He is a terrible Break fast eater.I tried almost everything..Cereal,Idli,Dosa,Uppvmav,Kichadi etc...He doesn' t seems to be liking anything.Atleast in the afternoon i manage to feed him lil bit. That too his nursery rhymes dvd shoud be on when he is having food.Otherwise he wouldn' t open his mouth. As days goes by i am getting tired myself.I am loosing patience. Can anyone advice me on this?

Just relax. Leave him if he doent eat..give him the next meal...he mite b hungry by then n mite take something...chnage the setting...these days I feed my son in the balcony...then somedays back in the living room with pogo...whtever works :)
all the best. take care...love to ur son...avoid hitting him pls...they dont even know hy we are angry n hitting them...poor babies...dont hit him pls.

Hi, My 3 yr old twin boys were giving me a tough time with their meals. They absolutely refused to bite and chew into their food and I had to feed them everything in mashed form - even idlis and steamed carrots. But after they started going to playschool, they see other kids having snacks and started asking for it by name. I bought small packs of most of the stuff and tried one at a time, esp after they got back school and were real hungry. It took a while for me to persuade them to bite and take a taste. But finally they' ve learnt to bite their snacks.

Likewise, I made their food increasingly thick and of a consistency where there just cannot swallow, but have to keep it in their mouth. After a while, they realised there' s no other way, but to chew....

Hope this helps all moms who are having a tough time getting their young ones to bite and chew into their morsel of food. Good luck !!!

Hello smiley..

Check if ur son is really hungry. Have fixed times for meals and DON' T feed him anything in between mealtimes. While feeding, keep a fixed duration of time, say half an hour. If he doesn' t eat within that time, STOP! That will make him hungry for the next mealtime. Don' t ever force the child to eat. Even though children cannot talk, their body knows how much they need. Also, if you force him, he might go off food forever, which will affect his eating patterns later in life. Also, check if he wants to eat on his own. At 15 mths, many children want to eat on their own. If he does, let him, even if he makes a mess!! That' s how he' ll learn to eat! All the best!!

but even our children like that. that doesnt mean you shout n beat them if parents behave like that then where will kids go? it is very frustrating n irritating but as a parent you must know how to tackle the problem n not beat them, your baby is 15 motnhs mine is 2 yrs but she still soemtimes behave badly. day b4 y' day my daughter threw khichdi on her head when we forced to eat, last nite she cried for more, there is no solution after all they are kids

he will learn to eat check out if he is theething even if he is not they behave like that be nice to him
