Hi All,

This is my first post here and I would really like your help with this problem.

My son who is 17 months old has started to scream like anything when things dont go his way. For ex: When he is playing and I ask him if he needs water, and if at that time he doesnt, he will scream loudly. Another example would be if we asks him if he wants to go out/to the other room/even eat his food. Anything for that matter and that too for no reason at all!!!! It looks like he wants to have every thing his way. I have no idea how and where he picked up this screaming!!!! And frankly its getting on my nerves now. For every small thing he screams.

Any idea why he does that? or how we can stop this behavior? I have tried to be patient, scolded him, stopped taking to him when he screams, but nothing seems to work.

Guys I really really need you help with this problem.

I knw wht you are going through. My doctor was telling tht all of a sudden kids of this age will start acting funny and one fine day thry will yell and scream for no rhyme or reason, she was explaining tht we shd change or divert his attn. at this point to something very exciting which he loves to do and explain to him tht his behaviour is wrong. I knw it is easy advising but try it out and see. all the best
