hi my baby is 4 1/2 months old. My ped insisted that i started ginving him apple, khichdi etc etc when he completed 3 months but i dint cos i knew he wasn' t ready. I have just started ginving him rice cerelac just a spoon or two. I want to know how do babies start taking solids cos he doesn' t take it, he cries, maybe he is not ready. but please tell me a general way as to how babies start taking foods and what foods at what stages. thanx. mandeep replied. in Uk 17 weeks is the minimum when u can start weanning but myself i gave my son carrot puree when he was 15 weeks old. u can give your baby carrot puree, carrot and aloo puree, pear puree or apple puree start with these slowly slowly keep introducing another vege and fruit.try to give your baby food which is full of nutritions then carbos like idliy or rice u can add these things later on.idily or rice will fill your baby tummy quickly but wont provide any minieral or vitamins then carbohydrates.
