My daughter is 11 months now and is 17.5 pounds and very active.Talks 2 letter words and already walking.
But the sad part is she doesnt like to drink any fluids, but she loves breastmilk which stopped by 9 months.
I have tried everything possible to feed her formula, vitamin D in bottle, glass, sippy etc but no good.
I give her other calcium source like paneer, curd, chapati soaked in milk etc, but that is not sufficient and nothing like drinking milk.
Are there any long term effects of this? I am concerned but since she is growing well, i am not sure if I need to be worried. My ped says its ok, many babies are like her.
Any thoughts pls let me know
Thanks

Christine replied. Hi Asha,
My baby is just the same. She will only take a couple of sips of milk. I too have tried adding various flavors to the milk but no effect.
It affected me a lot and I would be depressed and would cry a lot. But then I gradually came to accept it although now I make her \" eat\" her milk, if not drink it, by giving her porridge, milk based curries and a 5 ml calcium supplement daily.
She is 20 months now and crossed all her milestones ahead of time.
Try not to worry too much, but keep trying.
All the best

Priya replied. sources also like cheese, paneer, leafy vegetables etc. so if she is eating paneer, cheese , rice and if she is eating chapati soaked in milk than it is fine. now she should eat solid food just like what we eat as she will be 1 year old soon. you can add flavours to milk if she does not like plain milk. u can add mango pulp, dates syrup, honey, pediasure, almond powder to her milk and give it a try. if she does not drink milk in that way than u can try givign her soya milk. that is also good for health. milk in any other form is also equally good. u can give her 1 katora of curd if she likes it. u can give her fruits, fruit juices etc. u can use khoya also in her recipes as it is a milk product. u can try kheer of rice, rava, semolina for her. u can try sweet potato kheer for her which also contains milk. u can add ghee to her food. if she is eating paneer, cheese, curd ,kheer ,chapati soaked in milk than it is also fine she is getting milk in this way.
