Hi

I am due in another 2 weeks with twins. And I intend to join back work by end of May. I do not have any back up support at home to take care of my babies and I plan to start looking for a full time maid who can look after them.

I know this is going to be a tough task, but i want to give it a shot before saying that this is something i cannot manage. If things do not work out, I may opt for a part time option or even take a break till my babies are about 12 months old.

My husband is fine with us trying out the maid option, but both my parents and inlaws are continously discouraging me from even thinking of going back to work for another 1-2 years.

I have had a fairly good career with my current co. and till now have really enjoyed my stint there. Not getting back to work will surely have a very depressing impact on me. At the same time due to family pressure, I have started feeling guilty that I want to set career as my priority leaving my tiny kids under a maid's care.

I would like to know if any of our friends here have some suggestions for me.

I'm conducting a research on working mothers and believe me you are not alone! The kind of pressures that women have to face every day where their jobs are concerned are just insane. Stick to your decision. Don't let anyone affect your mindset. Try convincing your family that you'll be a happier and more positive mother if you're working and satisfied.
