Hello,

My son' s paed told me that the baby either drinks the milk or the solid food. If you want your child to start eating proper meals you should slowly wean him off the breastfeed during the day.

Feed him once in the morning, in the noon, if you feel like and in the night. Rest of the time he has to have three meals and two snacks.

The meals could be rice/daal/veggies mix. Try different combinations everyday... someday give him poha, etc. Breakfast should be a heavy meal too. Try ragi/sheera/porridge... whatever he can digest.

The snacks should be fruit, boiled potato, crackers, dry fruit halwa, etc.

That way they are sufficiently hungry during meals. At night try to give him suji ka halwa or roti-daal. These are heavy to digest and hence it would mean that the child sleeps longer.

Give him his last meal around 8.30-9 pm. After that give him breast milk once.

To wean him off night feeds... you need to be patient for a while. My lil one took almost a week to get off the feed. But be patient and pat him back to sleep. Sing a lullaby if need be.

As soon as he get up give him bm.

You have to slowly nurture him towards a diet that adults have.

Hope this helps.

Hi
if your baby if happy, putting weight , content, achiving milestones
acorrdingly age that' s wot matter as a mum u know wot is best for your baby, all babies r different so all have different food requirement so it is impossible to say anything plus u r breast feeding so u even yourself dont know how much milk your son is having. the only thing i will say u here is the BF at 12.30 cut that n offer fruit instead if u dont want to do this then offer him fruit at 1.30 see if he eats
R u feeding him every 2 hours in night time? that' s bit novel cos he should sleep through if not whole night than atleast 6 hours this shows either he is hungry or is just into habbit of feeding . i think love u have to stop this as u also need sleep. Sorry if i am wrong.with my own son he will be 1 end of this month. i want to have him more milk then food so i offer him 3 katoris (approx 400g in total in day )of food which includes vege. meat, fruit, custard, curd rest is milk as much as he wants. hope this is any help.
