There is no need to say that u r not duing justice to your duty as a mum u r doing brill job.
i think there is too much gap between meals try to minimiz that first. if i was u i would have done this.
6 - milk 150 or may be 200 ml
8.00 - 9.00 - different kind of paranthaI like Potato, left over rice, cauliflower or simple salt n black pepper) made in ghee or butter as they will give her more calories and fat then idli. idli will fil her up quickly but wont give her any nutritions then crabs, try to make different shapes of parantha like moon, stars, sparoow, write her name on parantha n ask her which letter she want to eat first etc etc.i remmember my mum to use to do this kind of stuff with my brother or instead give her cheese toast or take 1 medium mashed potatoes add handfull of grated cheese in it one tablespoon of chopped onion, mix all n make a flat tikki type with your hand n fry in pan both side for only 1 to 1 and a half min.
11- fruit banana/melon or any other fruit which can provide her plenty of calories or 1 boiled egg.
1- lunch ( like ritika wrote sit with her n tell her lets see who finishes first mummy or little darling n tell her that if she finishes her food then u will take her to park or keep a tiny chocolate if she like that to eat to give her at end or what ever she like.if she manage to eat 7 - 8 spoon then increas slowly slowly that' s a good start then.
4 - milk 200 ml add different flavour in it. if she sleeps then dream feed (this can only be done if she take bottle) that wot i do with my son
6 - cheese cubes or any fruit chopped u can put in to her mouth while she is playing.
8 - 8.30 dinner (keep ice cream/rice pudding or some mithai in front of her if she likes that n tell her to finish her dinner first then she can have that.
10 - milk 200ml
hope this is any help.
Ritika replied. One suggestion if you have not already tried it.
When it is feeding time, sit down next to her to eat yourself..don' t give anything separately to the baby. Put tiny pieces of the food on the plate near her...hopefully while watching you eat, she will start eating herself...
After weeks of unsuccessfully trying to feed my baby (nothing worked, she would not eat from me..and if I put food in front of her, she would play with it and then throw it around).
Then I read Dr Sears website and tried that..it has worked to an extent. Nowadays I take a plate of food and my hubby and I sit on the carpet with it and then start eating slowly making all yum yum sounds..then my baby comes running to see what we are eating..then she becomes curious and starts to copy us by picking up the food and eating...green beans, pasta pieces, paratha pieces work well this way.
For feeding her kichdi, I put it in front of her on her high chair..then I start to eat from her bowl slowly..when she sees me eating, she sometimes starts eating also...
I know it is so stressful when your child does not eat...hope some of these tricks help you...
Take care,
Ritika
MANDEEP replied. Rekha i spoke to my friend here as her daughter is 16 months old n she is also very fussy while eating she says try to offer finger food from different food group like cheese for calcium, tiny stripes of boiled eggs for protein, and bread/roti for crabs ste. cut story short offer her more finger food n make sure she get, protien, carbs, calcuim. and one thing do u feed her your self then the best will be let her feed herself as my friend says her daughter eat well herself n more. Rekhs may be u have not notice your lil darling is grown up n want to be independent. just a thought love.
mandeep replied. r u offering her milk all the time n she is drinking that n then not interesting in food as she must be filling her tummy with that (or too much juice or water) or the another thing is try to offer her the amount she want to eat often n if u r giving her too much snack like chocolates/toffes etc. stop them instead offer her fruit.which r good for her.
try not to go by time ,let her ask for food then u offer her cos i did same with my son n was right on track in one day. there r days now also when i want him to eat but he is not intrested i leave him n then in 15 min or half n hour he ask himself n will eat the lot.well this is all wot i think of, will ask my friends here n will write if they suggest anything.

Hello Mandeep, thanks for reply. I have reduced her milk intake for 2 times, in night 10 and morning 6, 150ml.
9.00am - Breakfast, she takes 1 idli, tofu, cheese . 1.00pm - lunch, half cup (5 to 6 spoons)of rice with kichadi or egg, curd, ghee. 5.00pm - evening ragi and banana / apple juice 4 oz. 8.30pm - dinner 1 chapati or half dosa. this is her diet.
i made her to feed by herself, but she is playing and she dips fingers in food, throws food all over room, gets her bowl like toys and puts in that and play. And if u see her time gap between food is 4 to 4 30 hours. i wont show her any chocolate or biscuits. i feel i am not doing justice to my duty and not providing her enough diet.
her weight is 8.6 kgs at 17 months. That makes me sad. she is active all day. Please suggest is it ok?.Thanks in advance.
