Hi all
i have recently relocated to US from India. My son is 15 months old. i am having a problem here...have been adding the regular market available fat free skim milk(anderson erickson) to his food like oatmeal and suji. He gets a loose motion after having 15-20 teaspoon of the same. also he takes NAN 2 the doc in India had suggested to get him off it and put him on the regular market available milk. what can i do here?? he is not able to take the milk available here. any specific brand let me know. i wuld give it a try.

thanks
chetana

I used to use Similac Advance for my baby.

I boil any water that I give to my baby...And no, I do not add any sugar to the milk. I just warm it slightly..

Take care...

My daughter is just a few days shy of 10 months and I' ll be starting her on whole milk when she' s 11 months (based on her ped' s suggestion) As ritika says ,you need to give your baby whole milk. I' d always go with organic ,it' s expensive ,but it' s your call totally. Even I shop at costco sometimes for milk -the organic kind and other times its horizon organic. Those are the 2 brands I can think of. I don' t know about the formula that are using currently, but there are a lot of toddler formula that have been introduced lately that are much cheaper than normal formula. I use Enfamil Lipil toddler formula on my baby.
I use tap water for my baby. No bottled ones and also no nursery water. It depends on where you live if you really need to boil the water for your kid. Talk to your ped about it. I live in a city and we get good water (not well water that needs to be boiled) so I don' t need to boil water.
Hope I helped on some of your concerns.

Hi Chetana,

Once your baby crosses 1 yr, the doctors here recommend that you start giving whole milk to your kid.

Do NOT give fat free milk. Give whole milk only. Your baby needs the fat right now..

You can pick any brand you want..I get my milk from Costco or publix.

You can try mixing a little bit of whole milk with the formula..and then slowly increase the milk amount...

Dear ritika and RC

Whenever i have tried to switch from formula milk to the regular market milk....i had this problem. He gets loose stools. My doctor said to move from fat free to full cream gradually. Lets see ...anyways i have to figure out something as NAN isnt available here hence have no options but to look for a substitute or try for a different brand of fresh milk.

also tell me one thing do u ppl add any sugar to the milk or any health drink for that matter?

also the water that you give is it tap water or bottled one or tap water boiled??
thanks
