Eating Problems:advice

My daughter is 19 months old & want to give rotis(phulkas) to her..she is fond of spicy food..I generally soak rotis for 1 hr. in warm milk & sugar so that it becomes soft..till then she is not able to chew the portion of roti instead spits it out..prefers to take food in mashed form only..
Is it ok to give her every food in a mashed form? She has already got 3 incisors..

Any suggestions?

Hi,
I think you should slowly stop giving her mashed roti. She is old enough to chew and if you don' t encourage her right now, she will get used to mashed roti only and won' t bother to chew at all. Initially you can immerse pcs of roti in dal before giving them with vegetables. Then you can stop immersing them and just feed her the way we eat ourselves. You can put some ghee on hot roti so that it remains soft. But pl stop giving her roti with milk and feed her whatever you eat at home. There is no harm in letting the kids eat some spicy food. Though ofcourse you will have to tone down the chilli factor a little.
Good luck
