Feeding:Introducing cow´ s milk when weaning from breast

Hi all,

My son is 15 months old and weighs 8.9 kg.

He takes solid meals 3-4 times in a day along with some snacks in between.
Also, till recently I was breast feeding him evening and night.
Now, I have reduced it to one time and plan to completely stop BF by next week.
He has never been introduced to bottle and takes water and juice from cup.

My concern is that my son refuses to take cow' s milk. I have tried adding some flavors to his milk like elaichi, Kesar, baby horlicks but nothing works. He refuses to take even a single sip.

Kindly advise how do I make him take in top milk.
I am concerned about his calcium and protein intake once I totally stop breast-feeding

Thanks all,
Rashmi

Is he happy to eat rice pudding, suji ki kheer or custard as he will get milk in them. with all these u can give him curd, try adding different fruit in small chunkes in curd, if he is happy to eat or puree the fruit. cheese spreads or other form' s of cheeses what ever is avaiblable in market. make sandwhich, pizza or put cheese on a savoury biscuit. take a toast, add baked beans over it n sprinkle some grated cheese, u can also add boiled egg finely chopped or
wisk the egg make omelete , once its done add cheese to one side n fold see if he likes this, try makeing spanish omelete if u have oven.take a potato cut it into small thin chunks n fry in oven proof pan, wisk couple of egg n add sliced capsicum and greated cheese wisk all of them, add to fryed potatoes n cook of 2 to 3 min. then keep it oven for 10 min n SO will be ready. O last n least paneer u can do so mush with this like make paneer parantha , paneer pakora, or paneer burji, as u said he is haing his 3 or 4 meals so he is getting vita. n minerals from there n adding dairy product in his diet the way i wrote will keep his calcuim intake fine, but still keep offering him milk in a glass. as mum' s we can only try.that what i keep on doing as my son will be 1 on 31st.

Hi!

Thank you very much for all your valuable suggestions.
My son is not fond of curd but, I will definitely try out your suggestion with regards to cheese servings and will also try out your recipe for spanish omelette.

Thanks again
Rashmi
