Hi Ladies,
Its me again ... As most of the ladies suggested ,I started with the lactogen formulae milk powder.. now the problem is my 4 months old daughter is not able to digest it.its been 4 days I started the powdered milk (3-4 times a day n BF 4-5 times a day)since 2 days she is crying a lot. I spoke to my newly tried doctor n he says there shud not be any problem .. he is not understanding my baby' s problem. says u have switched to a better thing so there shud be no problem. I m soo worried thinking of starting cow' s milk again.

Another suggestion needed :when Can I start giving her boiled rice n dal water?? pls suggest

I think you should stop the vati chamcha and start the bottle. Your baby may be having a growth spurt and is hungry. That hunger needs to be satiated.

I did that for my son and at 9 months is weaned off the bottle too.

You need to use your mother' s instinct and trust your doctor. Remember one thing -- the only thing wrong with the bottle is that you need to be careful with sterilization.

Don' t lose hope. Stick around to what you are doing.

There are some signs that indicate your baby is ready for adult food. Does he or she show interest in what you eat? Try giving giving her a bit to eat and see if she can swallow. The reason small babies are not started on solids is that they do not know how to swallow and can gag.

So, if your baby is doing that, go ahead and start solids.

But please don' t start cow' s milk. It' s most unnatural.

if she was use to cow' s milk y did u change to formula?
its ok...now...make sure that the bottle or vati n sppoon that u use is properly sterlised...dont feel lazy in doing that...2ndly u shd go li slow in given formula...
say for example..2 oz ...at 11 am ..2 oz at 5 pm..wait for 2 day ...or say 3 days ....
then gv early morning whn ur baby gets up ..same 2 oz..at 11 am then at 5 pm...again wait for 2 days...
start b4 going to bed..this is the way u should do...
then slowly incerese the quantity...

this is what i did with my baby ...

about dal ..i wud suggest dont start now...as it is ur baby is having prob...wait...

for 6 months no solids...after six motnhs u can start but follow the same pattern...go slow ....baby is so small...so delicate...keep this in mind...

most imp thing ...the water u take for preparing lactogen...boil it very well...

O dear feel sorry for LO. SS try gripe water that will be good if she is having any sort of gas/colic and will help in digestion also. I know its a big change for your daughter she will get use to of FM. see here in UK we r told to start weaning at 6 months n 17 weeks is the safest to give any soild as our health visitor tell us but i have seen many mum who start early may be 12 weeks . i started my son with carrot and potato mash, pear puree, apple puree, baby rice in milk at 15 weeks n he was fine.speak to DR. n see what he/she says.

Hi SS,
The same with me when we start they use to cry and found since the BF coming continuously and our spoon feeding is little slow or might be little different so was the problem .once trying new found make half filled with ur BF since she is not too hungry then practice .Don' t start solid like rice with dhal untill six or seven . u have to move semi solid like ragi kanji in 6th month then rice with dhal .
