I went to infertility treatment last year in the month of Nov. At that time i was diagnosed with PCOD. So doctor prescribed me Metformin and asked for follicle monitoring. I was ovulating in 1st month also but my egg didnt ruptured on time so during next cycle doctor gave me an injection to rupture my egg. For next 3 months she asked to have metformin and try to concieve. But i didnt conceive after 3 months also. Then she asked me to have uterus test and everything was fine in that test. Then she asked to have 3 tests of TB. She said if everything comes out negative then we will do HSG(Fallopian tube test). TB gold was negative but unluckily mycrobacterium came out latent. I was happy thinking that it is latent so no treatment would be required but i was shocked knowing that i have to go on a TB treatment of 9 months. For initial 3 months i shouldn' t plan a baby as the medicine could harm the baby. After 3 months they will stop Pzide and continue with rest of the TB medicines and then will check for fallopian tube and then i can plan also as pzide is the only medicine that could be harmful for baby. When i started the TB treatment they gradually increased my dose saying that there could be some side affects. So after 1.5 months i reached to complete dose then doctor said from now we count your months. So after that 3 months later i went again doctor asked me to again do that mycrobacterium test but to my surprise it again came latent with the value increased. now the doctor is saying that i need to continue medicine. but im not satisfied. I mean im taking these TB medicine from last 5 months still even the latent level is not coming down how this can happen. I fact i have read at many places that these test dont give 100 right indication of TB.I mean these test are not full proof . and on the basis of these test my latent TB treatment is going on for months and im still waiting for planning a baby. Please share your experience if anyone of you had gone through the same phase.
iam very frustated and feels like changing my doctor. Please advice some good infertility doctor in north delhi also.

yes u r right the results can be false.
As when I did the test from LalPath labs it came out to be -ve.
And when tissue sample was taken directly though Hysteroscopy the result was +ve that too within a span of 2-3 months.
So it depends on the sample sent to the lab.
My doctor prescribed anti TB medicines for 2 months only as the TB was latent.
After that she did not ask me to redo the test as 2 months time is OK for Latent bacteria and also considering that there can be false +ves on first instance and I may not be having TB at all as she didnt see anything abnormal with the uterine lining and tubes which these bacteria play with.

BTW I am seeing Dr. Kaberi Banerjee at Adiva/Max.

u n i seem to hv the same problem....i had 2 miscarraiges and then my TB was diaganosed.right now its been 3 months i am having TB medicines. now the doc has told me to try. My 1 tube was blocked so she has opened with laproscopy. I am still taking Tb medicine. Can u tell me who is ur doctor. I am going to Dr nalini mahajan in defence colony.
