2007-06-15
Name: mommy

I have just started potty training my 2.4 year old son.(weighing 35 lbs) I dont make him wear daipers all thru the day.....only when he naps at noon at nights.I take him to pee every 25 mins.....he SITS on a ring placed on adult potty.....at that time i make hissing sounds for him too pee but never does pee .After meals times and mornings in make him do poop again on the ring.Today was day 3.....sucess rate is zero for pee and poop.ON day 1kept having accidents for pee....but did not poop at all.On day 2 pee accidents were just once in 2 hrs....no poop at all.Same was day 3.From last 3 days he is not pooping ....having enough water and fluids.....and a very very good eater...

Does he need to stand and pee ?....should i be doing 2 things at a time....stand for pee and sit for poop ?..He sits very peacefully on the ring for 15 -20 mins every time.....4-5 times in a day.Had always got a very irregular potty routine....but never constipated.....pls help me i am very frustrated

i started potty taining my son when he was one yr and a few months. it started with making him sit on the potty seat where he would start crying and will do nothing but cry. I used to sit on a stool near him and would try to divert his mind and make him confortable sitting on the potty. this practice continued for months - six months may be.... then at times when my husband would go to the toilet, i would ask him to take my son along so that he can see and understand that pee and potty needs to be done there and not in nappy. Later on i used to make him stand and do pee in the bathroom... One thing i have learned about being mother is that u can and should never give up on your baby - repetition and patience eventually pays.
