Trying since long:TB infection and infertility
2009-08-06
Name: MC

We are married from last 4 years and right after marriage my wife was diagnosed with TB infection in Brain and Abdoman, She went through TB treatmnt for apprx. 1 year and after that we plaaned for baby but she could not conceive even after trying for 1.5 years so we went to doc and after all the tests we came to know that egg was not getting produced during cycle, doc did all her best but nothing happened she told that TB in abdoman has chaged the process of egg creation so need to see some infertility expert and suggested name of dr. Sonia Mallik in Holy Angles, NDelhi and we went there she given just 10 minutes to us and advised IVF saying that no point in wasting time now.
We are still not decided to go for IVF as it isvery costly and there are only 30 changes in one cycle as doc told us.
I would like to know if any other coupld has faced same prob and got success with some medical treatment without IVF, Please tell us.
Thanks

hi there. i am agreed for taking second opinion. either u go to dr nalini mahajan (she is costly and has private clinic) and u can talk to dr kaberi bannerjee (moolchand hospital) . or u can go to both the docs coz they are very near. then u will decide whom to go. see docs attitde and mental satisfaction is first thing in this type f problem. as far as tb is concerned it is totally curable thing. but it is like a infection. better u talk to docs.

Hi MC very sad to hear this. But if the doctor says there is no point. then dont go ahead with ivf because u might lose your money. pay more attention to your wife T.B. treatment because if she is healthy and cured by this treatment . its good . if she conceive when she has got T.B. may be the child will get the same thing. So when your wife is on T.B. treatment and later on when she is healthy just go an adopt a child. I think this is a better option . Sorry not trying to be rude. But trying to solve your problem. Wish u and your wife all the best for your future. bye take care.

hi
i had 2 misscarraiges and i was diaganosed with TB of uterus.....then i changed my doc and currently undergoing TB TREATMENT WITH dr NALINI mAHAJAN defence colony. she is supposed to b a specialist in IVF' s n all....also u dint write ur wife' s age as that is a major factor....i also went to dr abha majumdar at gangaram...although she is very good, she has no time for her patients...i suggest u take a second opinion from dr nalini mahajan...she gives ample time to her patients and is thorough with her testing.
all the best to u guys.

I had septum in the uterus and got removed. Since I had a history of ectopic pregnancies, both my fallopian tubes are tied. Due to the poor ovarian reserve ... - Malini [View Message]
