What do you think of mathematics? Does your child find mathematics interesting? Do you know any ways to make mathematics interesting for children?

I think you should also remember that not all children will like maths. Just as children do not like history or languages, similarly they need not have to like maths. Don' t force your child to do something he is not interested in. However, it is an unavoidable situation where they have to learn all these subjects where they show disinterest. Just tell them with a little love that they have to do it but do not force. They will love to learn all these things if you teach them with the way in which they want to learn. Please do not force them otherwise they will completely lose interest in studies. It is better to teach them in the way which they like.

One way to get your child to enjoy maths is to start teaching him from the time he is small. This way he gets used to maths and is more comfortable with it as he grows up. Small trick always help to teach child and make them learn faster. Make sure that he is enjoying the entire process. I think that it is important that children enjoy each and every part of learning. If they do not have interest in learning then there is no use of teaching children in that way. You should find out the way of teaching which is enjoyed the most by children.

The problem with maths is the way it is taught in schools. Most of the schools have big classes with lots of children in them. So they have no time to pay attention and see if the child has actually understood anything. Each child has to be taught with a different way because the intellect of each child is different. It is incorrect to teach all the children in same way as some children may not understand it. And at the tender age they are not even able to express that they did not understand, so teachers in schools should make sure that each and every child understands everthing.

RE:Reading Newspapers
How old is your kid as it depends on the age of the child and one cannot force a five year old to read the newspaper so if your child is above ten years then yes you should ask him or her to read the newspaper daily.... - Aditi [View Message]
