I think you should also remember that not all children will like maths. Just as children do not like history or languages, similarly they need not have to like maths. Don' t force your child to do something he is not interested in. However, it is an unavoidable situation where they have to learn all these subjects where they show disinterest. Just tell them with a little love that they have to do it but do not force. They will love to learn all these things if you teach them with the way in which they want to learn. The problem with maths is the way it is taught in schools. Most of the schools have big classes with lots of children in them. So they have no time to pay attention and see if the child has actually understood anything. Each child has to be taught with a different way because the intellect of each child is different. It is incorrect to teach all the children in same way as some children may not understand it. And at the tender age they are not even able to express that they did not understand, so teachers in schools should make sure that each and every child understands everthing.
