Breastfeeding:Need help expressing milk..

My baby is 3 months old, so, I have started going to work.. I have a manual breast pump, and, have been using that to express out n throw the milk while at work.. And, I am away from home from 8 AM to 7 PM... It is painful and extremely tiring for me to keep on expressing milk every 2 hours... I feel half of my work time is consumed in the rest room !
Electric bpumps, I can't carry.. as, i can't find a plug and connection in the rest room..
I am confused as to what i should buy, i would luv to have a battery operated model, which is not too big in size... (I live in hyd, india)
Please suggest as to what i should do..

Hi Swapna, I m a working mother of 7 1/2 month old baby, as u said manual pumps do consume a lot of time. Initially i had a problem to pump it out every 2 hrs. As suggested by Nidhi start increasing the time gap gradually, ur body will get accustomed to it. Drink something warm half an hr before u express this makes the flow much faster. Avoid eating too much the first half of ur day this will convert very fast and u wld find diff and heavy by afternoon. Jus 2 hrs before leaving office drink a glass of milk which will enhance better flow in the evening once u reach home. this is what i practice, but currently
All the best.

Hi swapna, I'm also a working mom and express milk at workplace. I use a manual breast pump of 'Pigeon' (costs Rs.1600/- and comes with a bottle that can be attached to the pump). This pump is very comfortable and u dont need to throw the milk. U can pump it in a bottle and keep it in refrigerator for your baby to consume the next day while u r at work. I'm doing the same and this arrangement is working very well for my son who will be 4 months very soon. Also, u dont need to pump every 2 hrs. U can pump from both sides only during lunch time, ur body will get accustomed to this schedule in a few days.
Wish u all the best!

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
