pooja, this seems to be a problem with every freshly minted working mom that i know. i too have been trying to locate a good maid through all possible sources available - have told the building security guards, have told hte nurses at my gyne's nursing home, have told both my cooking maid and cleaning maid, have told the sabzi woman who comes to our building, have told my neighbours and their maids and so on. one or two have come but no one that i have liked. its so difficult to leave your child behind with someone you feel comfortable with. did you try the agencies? one of the agencies did send one or two women.
