Trying since long:Genital Tuberculosis
2009-03-09
Name: dipi

Hi,
I am TTC from around 3 yrs now. Recently my doc has identified that i have infection in uterus wch is showing in my blood sample. My doc says that i hv to be on medication for 2 mnths and she would like me to TTC during this period.

The infection is Genital Tuberculosis. Doc has carried IGM and IGG test of the blood sample.

Does anyone has the same case. I would like to know how much time it actually takes to get cured of this infection. Is this a too big concern? in slow words she did mention that the duration can be little longer.

Please help me in understanding this infection by sharing your experiences with the same.

thanks,
dipi

Hi Dipi, i noticed you' d written this message 3 years ago, are you still on this forum? How did your TB issue get resolved?

I underwent a hysteroscopy prior to my 2nd IVF attempt, during which my doc did endometrial biopsy and sent the sample to the lab for mycobacterium culture test. It came negative for the 1st week and 2nd week, after which doctor did my embryo transfer.

Now, after 4 weeks, suddenly the sample has turned positive for TB. I' m in shock and don' t know how this will effect my chances of embryo implantation, how the treatment of TB will be, etc etc.

It' ll be great if you can share your inputs with me.

Thanks and regards,
zoya
