Hi
My son is 13 months. He is generally cranky. Doesnot sleep throughout night, wakes up atleast 4-5 times.
My ped prescribed Neuromin-M. He said, this will improve his sleeping pattern and will also help in making him less crankier. He said, it might help or not help. But it will not harm and no side effects. He said, lot of adults also take this as stress buster.
Dont know what to do. Personally I dont want to give anything of this sort. But, I am really tired of his crankiness and sleepless nights.
Any mom heard of this medicine?
Thanks
MG

Hai MG,

From when he started waking up like this? what he is having before his sleep? Is he feeling hungry...

My baby is 15 months and for past 2 weeks i was taking her to park, she enjoys, jumps, climbs all rock like things there. From that 3rd day onwards, she got up for more than 7 or 8 times, i have rock her for upto 15 to 20 min back to sleep. Again she wakes up with in 30 min. I was like a hell to work on next day.

I felt that she may have pain in her legs, so i make her to play only selected games and avoid climbing rocks and others that make her tired.
Now it came to routine 8 hours sleep.

So. Try to work out his problem, there may be something that is disturbing him. Play with him for 20 min before sleep to make him enjoy, laugh, jump. If he gets tired he will sleep automatically. At last give him milk and make him fill his tummy and get to bed.

If he wakes up rock him and sing rhymes for him, get him close to you, give him support.

Avoiding medicines is much better at this age, because for some it wont show side effects, for some it does.
Take care. Also Try to get rid of pacifiers as soon as possible.

Hi,
I can understand the phase you are going through.Even my son wakes up may times.
You can try applying warm coconut oil on babys hair and giving him a little massage before he goes to bed.You can even try giving him bath with warm water before he goes to bed.Even keep the milk a little luke warm.Hope thsi works.Good Luck.

Hi MG - i can understnad wht u are going thru...we are in the same bost...this Neuromin - M thingie...never heard of it...my ped recommends Phenargan. bt she has also told me that all alopathic medicines have some side effect or the other...and i think this is true. I suggest u let him play till hes really tired...dnt let him nap too much in the day time..also abt the medicine check the composition n take an opinion. all the best.

Hi Aks,
Does your kid wakes up so many times. What do u do then. Feed him? I give him his pacifier. But, his demands are increasing now. He will wake up as soon as his pacifier drops out of his mouth.
And, is ur kid also generally cranky. I mean, my baby will mostly be irritated of something. Most of the time he wants something and is not able to explain that to me and I think that is the reason of his behaviour.
Please suggest something, how are u tackling. I really need some break now or I will have to rush to some medication for myself.
