Hello everyone,

Amongst all the mothers, I probably am the only father posting a problem. My daughter is 9 1/2 months. My problem is that she does not eat anything from the bowl & spoon. My wife tries to feed her khichdi/ daal chaawal/ mashed potato and other such things, but to no avail. However, if she makes the khichdi liquid in a mixer, and gives to my daughter in the bottle, then she drinks the same. She cries to the top of her voice when my wife forces to give her food from a spoon, and eventually vomits out everything.

Some people told me that feeding everything from a bottle is bad for the kid' s tongue and she wont be able to recognise tastes as well as she might delay her speaking. Her weight is also just 7 kgs.

I request all the experienced people here to suggest me ways of making her eat in semi solid form from spoon, and enjoy.

Vivek prao replied. at 9 months your daugther should be able to at least eat pureed food from a spoon. Try giving her the food u put in her bottle with a spoon, i.e same texture and consistency.. if she accepts this then u can make it thicker slowly
Sometimes children like eating from our fingers.. take a little pureed fruit in your finger tips and put it her mouth.. just very little at first.. u can also try giving her small pieces of biscuit or cheese

But yours is not an isolated case I have heard or mothers giving diluted cerelace through a bottel because the child does not like it any other form.. children outgrow these things.. keep trying Athi replied. Hi vivekjyoti,
bottle feeding is not good. Now she is able to eat ur food , so when ur having breakfast or lunch , make her sit with u and give her a bit while u r eating .Most of the kid will be curious to eat with her parents .Try Sipper . Make ur food attractive , give her papaya with curd, beetroot rice .Try n say.
