our son is 15 months old and since last one week ,am trying to get him off the bottle but, he ias not accepting the milk form the sippy cup. He takes few sips and goes away.

I went through few websites which suggest not to take of his bottle from his fav time,like for my son it is morning and night which is his fav. So i took off his evening bottle but, it is not yet working.

has any of u weaned the bottle and pls tell me how did u do it ? at what age did u start and how long did it take?

Lakshmi satra replied. well.. first of all do you really want to go thru this again with the sippy cup? i wean my son when he was 15 month.. which was last month. went to doctor for his check up and doctor gave me few tips.
1st - give him water in bottle but not milk.
2nd- give him half cup of milk from cup or with the straw.
3rd - have lots of patients..
4th- mix little strawberry syrup or any milk milk poweder masala.. just little so he can taste the difference.

it took 4 days for my son.. first 2 days was very hard but then on 3rd day i gave him straw and he started making bubble in milk he started laughing and then while making bubble he tasted the milk and he started drinking it. i give him badam,pista,elichi powder.. just a pinch on his milk and he drinks like pro... just hide the bottle and dont even mention bottle in the house.. even dont show him any video or picture of bottle.. this is like keeping rock in your heart caz he will cry but i didnt give him sippy caz i didnt want to go thru this thing again.. so i give him thru the straw.. and its convient any where you go...... just cut the straw so he doesnt have to suck a lot..
