Feeding:Question - Moms in USA

Hi all

I am not sure whether this is right board to put this Question. I have come to usa recently with my wife and 1 yr old daughter. I noticed a very different culture here. Kids do not really interact or play with each other. In india, my neighbor kids used to play with my daughter . I am not generalizing thing but here kids are more or less preoccupied with thems or their toys.

Winter is coming and my wife is really frustrated. My daughter is tired of playing with the same toys or now cries hyrestically since she is not entertained. We take to maals in weekends and their she is happy watching people,

how are people esp. home makers handling their kids. How are mothers keeping their child (1 kid) of age 1-2 yrs occupied. Please do reply to this.

thanks
venkii

Hi Venkii,
The kids won' t come home but they will be seen in Play area in your apartment complex if u find that time then daily they ll arriving in tat time and u can make here learn swimming .Take her walking in evenings so u can find lot of friendly smiling faces tat india doesn' t have . They won' t much care for our Appearence there like in india.Venkii its good in US to make ur kid run freely and shout , reduce the time of keeping her at home and u did' nt mention which place u r so tat we can say wat r the entertainments available to engage ur daughter

you know i was born and raised here in the states, and i hear all the time that kids here don' t have anything to do..of course, it is different than india, but you know it is up to us to raise our kids the best way with our indian values and culture..and if we have to, we have to be more active..

i am not sure where u live, but make the most out of where u do live..look at local library schedules for story time, rhyme time..look around for playgroups..this will involve ur wife getting out and meeting other indian women with kids..i go to the library not only for my daughter, but for myself..i meet other indian moms, and then after a couple times we decided on a time for our kids to come over and play..

our kids can get bored very easily with us and being at home, especially at this age..look into local things for kids, eventually what happens is the same parents go to the same events with the same kids, so you get to know them..
