Hi Tanya

U can make dhal rice (kichidi) 1cup rice 1/2 moong dhal.... pour lil ghee fry in cloves, cinnamom...(U can remove it before U feed the baby) lil garli, ginger, onion..lil pepper, turmeric salt, coriander, mint (all these just a tbl sp) and cook well then add rice and dhal and cook then add 3 1/2 cups of water... when it cooked remove the whole spices and mash lil bit and feed ... (U can add more water in the rice before U cook to make it nice baby food consistency )

Carrot payasam

2 cups grated carrots fresh
1/4 cup of Moong dhal(optional)
Milk and water equal .. pour till the carrots submerge in the milk and water... U can add whole spices too like cardamom or vanilla essence... and cook

Cook these 2 well in pressure cooker...

remove and add fried and cut badam to it and beat it in the blender with sugar... (remove the cardamom skin) and beat in blender well.... U can add more hot boiling milk ... based on how thick U want the payasam..

In a pan heat lil ghee and pour this carrot payasam and cook for lil while and then U can feed warm or room temp...

Try to add spices.... mint/coriander etc... to make it smell good and tasty.. maybe ur baby will like it..

even when U make dhal add a lil cumin seeds / spices when Ur seasoning the dhal...

U can also add dhal rice, in blender and feed if ur baby is not comfortable with the consistency....

Just like Kichidi... U can try the same recipe with veggies.. like beetroot, carrot..ur kid will love it...

It is difficult in the beginning.... coz ur baby might be finding it diffcult to switch from bottle to spoon... But don' t give up.... keep trying.... definitely ur baby will start loving food in a spoon.. it takes time.. Be patient ... if Ur baby does not like something.... respect ur baby and give something he/she likes but don' t stop giving that particular food... keep trying ... ur baby will get used to it and start liking it....

Have fun

Best Wishes...

Sandhya
