thanks for your patience...i like to write, so if i wuldnt hv been in this field, i wuld prob would have been a freelance writr :),,so for me, its something i like to do..bt now considrng my health issues,,its restrictd,,so i take alot of time :)
1.About Post Delivery Health Care :
women body goes thru alot of stress, both physical n mentally..it all starts from the day you concve to the day you deliver nd later during post delivery depressn(result of all stress ! )...
during this period, our body is so sensitive that its vulnerable to difrnt infections,sickness and disturbd mental status(mostly cause of hormones) ! our immunes system is at the lowest so to say...
the reason why we take n extra care of things is a conservatve measure that we dont fall sick n endup getting miserable in health conditions esp when our baby health is dpending on us !
so eating a healthy diet, taking your multivitamins on time, taking an extra dose of iron helps us rebuild it..
on an average, its takes n approximate of 1.5months to 3months, for a women' s body to come back to routines, physically as well as mentally..as the post delivery stress settles n the hormones in the body also settles..n everything tries to come to normal health condition...
40 days is a minimum time of adequate rest and not stress...adequate rest is something that dont stress but at the same time you dont keep sleeping !!
light movements/work/walks at comfort, massages all stimulates blood circulatn and it helps regain better health...
THE KEY IS TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF THAT COMFORTS YOU AND NOT TO OVERDO OR STRESS YOURSELF FOR NETHING !
THE REST OF THE PRACTICES ARE AS A CONSERVATIVE MEASURES THAT WE DO,,SOME BENEFITS, SOME DONT ! IT DEPENDS ON HOW YOUR BODY N YOUR BABY TAKES IT !
eating special foods :
1. since our body is already under alot of stress, n stomach, n other organs start settling to thr actual places(which they moved mostly in upward direction with the strechng of uterus during the pregnancy,) al start moving to thr actual place..if you can google it try seeing the picture of women body before prgnancy n after pregnancy,,and see the places of the organs,,how drastically they move temporarily in order to give uterus that space !
the organs like stomach, liver, gallbladder are all under immense stress thru out the entire prgnancy,delivery, n aftr delivery also thr work has to continue...these organs do go thru stress, discomfort thats hw most of us have nausea, heartburns, constipatns n such digestive related problems...so eathing health diet actually comforts all these organs...
healthy diet doesnt have to be fat always,remember that...it means eating all you need a good portion of well balanced meals acc to what comforts your body n yes if you are bf, thn your baby !
during delivery too, you push alot, you go thru stress,,so takng care of yourself has to be your priority..now about eating foods n how they benefit :
1.eating ghee : dont eat too much ! it will just increase your fat,,eat little but doeat.. ayurveda says ghee is the life,,as it has pwrful qualities of regulatng your bowels, gving enough lubricant, healing properties,and healthy fat..google for more info so that i dont have to type more.
2. eating turmeric halwa/north indian custom : turmeric is a very powerful antioxidnt,helps regain the blood circulatn, helps in ne minor infectns in the body, n strengtns immune,,also aids in curing the injuries,,so whn this thing is eaten,,uterus tends to tone up faster,,as it gets a good dosage of an antioxidant that helps it to heal..but be careful, its hot in nature,if you are bf, n baby is fussy, try stoppng this n it should help !
3.eating methi ladoos : menthi has a pwerful qualities of eliminatng \" kapha\" and \" vayu\" from the body..durng the whole delivery we are not able to eat too much spicy foods due to which our body tends to get too gasy, bloaty n sometimes we have digestive probs, our immune is weak,,menthi aids in regulatn all this, n balances our kapha, vata,vayu that good for health..it also has healing properties..most women after delivery go thru body pains, joint pains, inflamantn, vericose vns,,temperory arthritis like conditions,,menthi, garlic, rasam,ginger,,all helps to remove it !
4. eating fibr foods, esp the liquids,,eat these in plenty..the more the fibr, remember the better you will get back in shape,,also will help your baby digest his milk well,,,hwoever if he seems to be havng loose motion, reduce your fibr serving but do take them as a part of meal,,if nothng thn part of salad.
menthi laddoos, etc dont benefit everyone,,remember that,,for nething you try,,look at your baby signs,,if he seems to be colicky, or stressng too much during bowels,,you might want to take a break n watch your baby..
dont eat heavy diet, and then give medicines to your baby to digest the milk you are giving him !! its like you are repairing,,its not benefitng to baby, remember that...you are just making your baby addictd to medicines in a way to say that you are stressng on your baby to digest him that milk...
i have not taken all those things,,i balanced it well, in my both pregnancies,deliveries,,my kids both are of 8lbs, and 8.8 lbs,,both have advanced growth, and both were never given mylicon or even gripe water...i am back in shape in my both pregnancy in just 3months,,oh yeah my wght shooted upto 200lbs !! my dr was worried,,why you think i got osteoarthritis !! even though it runs in family, and i showed first sign of arthritis at the age of 15,,it strikd me at worst after samarth birth where my wght reached 200lbs ! my knees were incapable to handle that wght...bt i cant help,,i hardly used to eat, n its my body who wants to blow like baloon all the time, during all my pregnancies,,its what my body type,,i cant change that !
eat lot of fibr,,balance your meals well with enough hot n cold foods,,dont overdo ne food,and you will not feel the need of ne extra medications..remember that..if your baby is irritable, it means you have to change your diet,or change his or yours routines and not give your baby unnecssary medication for simple infant problems..baby is born and is capable enough to handle his problems that natural to happen until first 3months,,so allow him, be a practical judge thn a heartful mother,,to deal with it.help him in differnt ways of soothing, but medicines is the last thing that should come in your mind.
you are the mother, be the best judge with mind,,let heart do the work of beating n purifyng blood,,and you will not only make less mistakes while bringing up your baby but your baby will have health thats from inside and his own !!
