I want to know how healthy is vegetarian food compared to the non-vegetarian food.
In nonveg, if egg is healthy, then in veg, what would compliment it?

Being a vegetarian what should I be feeding my 6 month old to ensure that he is getting a protien rich diet?

A very good substitute for eggs, is daal..all kinds of daal, and dairy products. They are all very rich in proteins.
Another source of protein is Whole grain bread. One slice of this bread gives you 8 gms of protein.

Neha is right, any kind of nut or soya is high in protein. Dals are also high in protein. Some vegetarian's do eat eggs though but if you don't then the above are very good options. Just remember that certain nuts are also high in cholestrol so whatch how much of it you eat. Yogurt is a great source of protein and so is cheese, paneer made with whole milk.

Just wanted to mention that nuts don't have cholesterol in them. They might be fatty, but only foods derived from animals (meat, dairy, and so on) can have cholesterol.
