Health Issues:bedwetting

My daughter is almost 5 years old and is still wetting her bed at night. I am really surprised that it has taken her so long becasue she was potty-trained by the age of 1 year, and was dry by day by the age of 2.9. Some doctors say that you should nbot really worry until she is 5. But she will be 5 in a couple of months and I don't see things getting better! Can somebody please advise.

Hallow dears
The bedwetting is also caused by the enlarged tonsils/adenoids.Adenoids enlargement causes the improper breathing in children while in sleep which also results in the interrupted sleep,day-tiredness,snoring sound etc.
The remedy is the \";TIME\"; till the age of 7 years and removal of enlargement if the problem still persists afetr 7the year of age.
Good Luck to all

one of the reasons kids bed wet at night if they are emotionally insecure or if the parents have had a fight in front of the kids or they are scared or if you have shouted at the child. a lot of cuddling and a healthy atmosphere and a trip to the bathroom before going to bed will help also during winters and rainy season take them to the bathroom around 2-3am in the night to keep them dry. if the child is emtionally secure and his emotional needs are met then bed wetting will not be a prolem at all

Read ur comments. Remove the cotton underwear of your daughter and tie her a diaper above that put her a nylon underwear for a week she would stop this habit.

My daughter is just six, and I overcame this problem by giving her little honey and water half an hour before sleeping and then before going to bed making her go to toilet or in middle of night lifting her from bed direct into the toilet and putting some wet ater on feet so automatically they let out. I hope this ill work

dear friend,
I am a father of 3yr old daughter and i do manage some simple technics which u can also apply. We do not give her liquid diets before 2hr. of sleeping and give little water before sleeping to avoid thirst in night. Just before sleeping, we allow her to go toilet. In night (specially in winter or rainy season) we allow her to urinate in neight say at 2- 4 in mid neight.
I think a little pain to u and your hubby will make neight dry to ur child.
Reply me, if it works for u also.

My daughter is alo wetting her bed at night and she is jsut about to turn 6. One of the reasons she is still wetting her bed is because we moved cities, and she was terribly missing all her friends. So although it had stopped in between, the minute we moved, it started again. I have been advised to not stress my daughter out on this issues, it could just get worse. Give it time, and things should improve on their own.

RE:Consticipation for 4 years old
This is an old thread but one thing no-one said was that exercise is important for gut motility. All the green veg and pear juice will be limited in their effectiveness if the kid isn't very physically active (just walking more and driving less helps!)
Also, my usual comment - use a child-size glycerin suppository if he's gone for two or more days without doing a do.... - Suzanne [View Message]
