Due Date Club January 2004:Re: Symptoms
2003-05-31
Name: Neeta

Hi all,
I recently found out that I'm pregnant, but it's difficult to believe since the only symptom I have is a missed period. Is there anyone else out there who is due in Januar 2004? I would love to hear the symptoms, or lack of, that you all have.
Thanks!

Hi Neeta,

You will start seeing some signs after 6-7 weeks I think. You will feel nauseated, tired, etc etc. It just seems like some alien has taken over your body. The OB/GYN says that your body gets adjusted by week 12 and accepts the baby inside. My due date is Jan 15, 2004.

I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Neeta: I am male and have been doing a lot of reading. My wife and I are expecting in Jan 04. My wife has had only a missed period symptom, and ever so slightly feeling sick. According to our OB/GYN everything is fantastic and I can't wait. So, try not to worry. Go to regular checkups and then some. That's what the doctors are there for. Good Luck.

Hi guys,

I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant now and nausea has just set in! It is really bad, everything smells aweful to me and I can't eat anything. I am really worried that my baby will be malnutritioned. Can someone tell me how I can deal with my morning sickness (although mine lasts all day) and how I can make sure that my baby is getting everything it needs.
thanks a lot for your help everyone!

Hi Neeta,
I too habe M/S. Lemme give u some ideas for minimising it. Have some salt crackers (I have Krackjack Biscuit) and a cup of hot milk or horlicks even before u brush ur teeth.(I have clarified with doc abt not brushing the teeth, she said its completely OK) Have some solid food after 1/2 an hour or so. Eat little by little even before u feel hungry. Do not leave ur stomach empty. Also the doc told me upto 3 months eat whatever u feel like do not compell urself to eat. Later during second trimester u will have cravings. So do not worry and have whatever u like. Take Care.

Hi Neeta,
I am seven weeks pregnant, when i went for my first ultrasound. The baby is still developing and i couldnt see much other than the heart beat.It was really tiny and and was about2 1/2 - 3 inches. But it felt great to see the heart beat.I went in for the abdominal scanning and they asked me to drink two full glasses of water before i went in.They measure the babys length and tell us how many weeks pregnant we are.there is an other type of scanning called as TransVaginal Probe. If we take this we can see the bay even more clearly and they can exactly determine how many weeks pregant we are.But i didnt feel comfortable with it and so i didnt take it.But it is considered to be perfectly safe.Dont worry.I can understand ur fears and nxiousness.Take plenty of rest and dont travel much. For some women the heartbeat is heard only in the 12th week or 14th week,so dont feel scared if u dont hear it the first time u go.Take care of ur health.ALL THE BEST,
SAILAJA

Hi Everybody,

Congrats to all the pregnant moms out there!!!!!!!My due date is in January and i just had my first ultrasound today.Felt great to see the baby and see its heart beat.
At first i felt anxious that i didnt have nausea or vomitting and .But the doctor assured me it is a good thing. One more symptom of pregnancy ,though not found in everybody is a network of blue lines on ur breasts, other than swollen and aching breats.

Drinking lots of fluids and eating six small meals a day, rather than 3 large ones can help reduce nausea a bit.

Take care everybody.Enjoy your pregnancy.

Bye,
sailaja

Hi Sailaja,

Congratulations to you too! I am so glad to hear that your ultrasound went well. I have my first ultrasound in two weeks, and I feel the same way that you did - NERVOUS! I don't have many symptoms - the typical sore breasts and nowadays I have some slight cravings. I am really hoping to see the baby's heart beat. If you don't mind me asking, how many weeks were you when you went for your ultrasound? When I go for mine I will have completed week 8 and just started week 9. I'm just wondering what I should expect to see and what I should not expect to see during the ultrasound. I really appreciate your help.

Take care and have a healthy and happy pregnancy.
Neeta

Hi Dipti,

I'm only in my 6th week and so I don't have much symptoms right now. However, I must say that I am always sleepy - I could sleep all day! Besides that I have started to get headaches. As for your symptoms, don't worry they are perfectly normal. When I went for my first OB/GYN appointment my doctor told me that if one has not had any symptoms in the early weeks of pregnancy it is possible that they will start around 9 weeks - this seems to be your case. Try to take it easy and enjoy your pregnancy.
Take care

Kidney
Hello:
My 20 week ultrasound also showed an enlarged kidney. The good news is that since it is only one side, chances are that he will \";grow out of it\"; and if there's a problem it will resolve itself. I would suggest going back in 4 weeks from when you had the first to see if the kidney is of normal proportion. I went back for the next one, and the ultrasoun... - CNoel [View Message]

Hey Kavita,

I'd say you get the ultrasound done so you will be able to see what is going on. Vaginal ultrasound is a good idea too.

Take care,
