Q: HEy my skin is really tanned and i use to be really fair and i have some acne on my face and a few freckles can you please tell me some home remedies to clear it up, i play alot of tennis about 7 hours a day and yes i do put on sunscreen please help with some home remedies thanks a lot.
A: Your tan will remain as long as you keep playing tennis in the sun. Keep applying sunscreen to reduce UV radiation. Wash your face immediately after playing tennis to reduce acne, and don't apply moisturiser immediately after.
Q: Help! I don't know the right foundation and powder to use for my skin!
A: Select the colour that matches your skin. If you use anything lighter, it will make your face look pasty and you will look older. Similarly, something darker looks fake. Apply foundation with the help of a damp sponge, so it doesn't look caked on, and is invisible.
Q: I have a really dry skin.would u please tell me what to do other than using cold water. And also my complexion is brownish on my face and the back of hands, but my rest of the body is nearly fair, so i want to become fair colored. u suggested using lemonjuice and honey but i wanted to ask how to apply it. i mean do we just put the mixture on our face or do we massage them into our skin. and i also wanted to know in how many days do u think i will see the difference in my skin color.please email with ur answers soon. THANK YOU.
A: Egg yolk is good for dry skin. Apply to face and wash off when it dries. Also, apply moisturiser regularly, twice a day - especially at night because the skin absorbs it the best at this time. Always apply moisturiser on clean skin, so it gets well absorbed. You don't have to massage the mixture in. Just apply and wash off when it dries - around 10 to 15 mins.
Q: hello. i've read through all the home-made recipes for fair skin. i, myself do not have very dark skin but would wish for it to be a few shades lighter. i am not keen on putting honey on my face as its too sticky and messy. should i opt for applying cucumber and lemon juice instead? my skin is dry/normal. and also.. can this be left on my face overnight for more powerful results?
A: Yes, apply cucumber juice instead of honey. However, if you want to leave it on overnight you could try applying only cucumber juice without lemon juice at night.
Q: my daughter is killing me about sun tanning she loves to stand in the sun for too long just to get tanned and i am afraid she will get skin cancer if she goes on. is there any food or a cream i can buy that will give her permanent tan? notice that she tried using cream for tanning but it didnt work (haha). thank you so much
A: She absolutely must wear sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. This will provide protection against UV radiation. There is no food/cream that will help her get a permanent tan.
Q: I've previously used a hair bleaching cream on my face and it has make my face blue. please can you tell me what to do? thanks
A: NEVER try this again. Apply a lot of moisturiser to your face, and apply cucumber juice to soothe the skin. The cucumber juice will also help the blue to fade quickly. Your skin's normal colour will return on its own. The next time, apply only facial bleaching cream. Give your skin around six months to recover before trying to bleach it now.
Q: hi, i was wondering what would be good to use on my face to make my complexion more supple, or rejuvenating if i have oily skin?
A: Apply egg white to your face. Don't throw away the yolk, it is very nourishing for your skin. You could apply it to your neck, which may not be as oily as your face, or to your hair.
Q: hi i had done bleach for 2 times closely intervals last year.after that my face got dark.pimple marks are also there.what to do when i apply lemon and cucumber juice i feel like burning sensation due to lemon. pls help me to get my face complexion clear back.
A: Use less lemon and more cucumber. If your skin is dry, use honey and lemon. If it still burns, apply only cucumber. Cucumber is cooling and soothing, and will be good for your skin.
Q: i'm 20 yrs old and had gone to learn swimming ..i developed some really bad tan..is it because of the water and the sun..and i wanted to ask you if sunscreens help me to prevent from tanning..i got myself neutrogena spf 45..broad spectrum UVA/UVB..will it help any from getting any darker? please educate me more about why indian skin tans and how t can be prevented
A: Sun tan lotions don't prevent you from tanning, they only reduce the harmful effects of UV radiation. The only way to prevent yourself from tanning is to stay out of the sun, or make sure you are sufficiently covered. You can consider swimming in the evenings.
Q: Hi, I am 23yrs old, I have very sensetive skin + Pimples from past 6 yrs now as i had been to skin specalist i redused but i get 8 to 10 pimples every day i am just tyed of every thing now as my skin is very sencetive i cannot even try any cream or anything. Q: can old honey use for fair complexion
A: Yes, mix an equal amount of lime with it first.
Q: I am 28 years old and work in the construction industry (in US). I have to be out in the sun a lot. I use a good brand sun block lotion as often as recommended, but, still my arms and face get dark. I also apply sun block to my face. Please suggest a remedy to prevent sun tanning. Is there something that I can do at home to bring my skin back to its normal color. Please suggest.
A: Sun block doesn't prevent tanning, it just protects the skin against harmful UV radiation. The only way you can prevent tanning, is to stay out of the sun. Wear a cap, carry an umbrella, wear full sleeves when in the sun.
Q: I am quite darkish brown, but when I was born I was almostpure whitish colour, can you tell me what to eaten do to Make my skin colour at Least to change back to a punjabi sexy light skinned colour Please help quick I m going to be married in 5 months Thank you
A: What you eat cannot really alter your skin colour. If you want to look lighter, you could apply cucumber juice to your face, leave it on overnight and wash off. Leave the skin on when making cucumber juice. Stay out of the sun.
Q: I am afraid of damaging my skin and getting premature wrinkles, I am only 17. I have dark hair and eyes and in the summer I turn very dark, people always think I am Hispanic. I like having glowing tan skin, but I want to protect it. Is there any way I can keep a tan without damaging my skin? Like any remedies or foods I can eat? I don't want to use a fake tanner.
A: The only way to naturally tan yourself is by sun exposure. Diet will not help. However, sun does cause premature wrinkles. Also, it damages the skin, and the effects will definitely be seen a few years later. Apply sunscreen regularly, and limit your daily exposure to the sun. A tan developed over a period of time, with a little sun exposure daily, is better than a tan developed over a weekend, due to sitting in the sun for hours.
Q: I was very fair but due to sun tan I have become very dark and my face has lost all its glow and I have also got all black patches on my face. what do I do to become fair and to get back the glow on my face. I wish to do modelling so please help me with this problem??
A: You don't have to be fair to be a model. Most models are dark. To get a natural glow, if you are serious about getting into modelling, I would suggest that you take up the Art of Living Course. They have a combination of yoga and diet, and your skin will definitely improve. You may need to stay off tea and coffee during the course. Also, regular exercise, combined with splashing your face with ice cold water daily, will give you a healthy glow.
Q: Can you help me, I have a medium complexion but my neck is black, How can I make it lighter, also can you help with acne on my back and arms.
A: When you apply cream, moiturisers, sun block lotion etc, make sure you apply it to your neck as well. Drink plenty of water and avoid wearing synthetic clothes close to your neck. For acne on your back, read this article:Read Here Also, read this article for information on pigmentation.
Q: I used to be light yellowish brown when I was an infant, but now, 19 years later, My skin is much darker, Especially my face, Lower arms, Hands. How can I get these areas to match the lighter colour of the rest of my body? Also, is it possible to change the skin colour of my entire body to the colour it was during my childhood?
A: Your face and arms are darker becuase of constant exposure to the sun over the years. Your natural colour may never return, because prolonged exposure to sunlight may lead to permanent darkening. You will need to be out of the sun for a few months to see if your natural colour will return - which isn't really very practicable. Apply a mixture of lemon juice and cucumber juice to your face and hands to lighten them slightly, or apply a fairness cream from a well known brand, that does not contain harmful bleaches or mercury. Himalaya claims to have an all-natural fairness cream, which you could try if you want to lighten your skin colour.
Q: where can i find fem bleach?
A: Fem is actually an Indian brand, so if you live in India it should be available at any general store. If not, you would be able to find it at an Indian store. However, Jolen is an international brand and you could use that instead of Fem.
Q: Hi, I wanted to know if using sunscreen reduces the taning process. In the summer my kids are outside all the time. They get very tanned during summer months. Does applying sunscreen reduce this and also what Spf should I get for them? Thanks
A: Suntan doesn't prevent your child from tanning, it just saves the skin from the harmful effects of UV radiation, enabling a person to get a safe tan. Read this article: Sun Fun Also, read this article for more information on what the sun can do to your skin, and how you can cope. Sunny Side Effects
Q: I was very light skined before, and then I went to india 2 years in a row during summer break and now I becamse very dark, are their any homemade remedies to have my old light skin back, and if its lemon and honey, how many lemons and how much honey?
A: If your skin is oily, do lemon and cucumber instead of lemon and honey. Just use equal quantities of each. Half a teaspoon of lemon juice and half tsp cucumber juice should suffice. The mixture doesn't keep, so you need to make it fresh everytime you want to use it. Also, always apply sunscreen before going out in the sun. This doesnt stop you from tanning, but it prevents harmful UV radiation from causing damage.
Q: Hello Miss, How are you I hopr you are fine and looking well. My name is Nadia Khan and I am from Pakistan. Miss my problem is that in summer my face colour is very dull like brown. But in winter it is better so tell me home made lotion or cream which is effective of whitening the face color. Help me as soon as possible. Madam dont tell me that you can use lemon or cucumber I can not use it becuase it is not effective for face whitening. Good bye
A: Lemon is a natural bleach, but if it doesn't help, consider using a fairness cream. Try Emami Naturally Fair, which is herbal. Alternatively, you could bleach your face once a month in the summer. Also, make it a point to wear sunscreen. Drink ten to twelve glasses of water. Exercise regularly to bring a glow to your skin.
Q: Hi there, I applied lemon and baby oil. But i have question when you apply them, does your skin start itching? Because for me after I put them on my skin it starts itching for 3 mins or so. Is this a bad thing?
A: Use honey instead of baby oil. You could apply baby oil on your body as a moisturiser immediately after a bath, but on your face, apply an equal amount of honey and lemon. Yes, it is normal for it to itch - lemon stings the skin a little. This is why you cannot apply lemon by itself, as it burns. Try lemon with honey, and if it itches, add a bit more honey.
Q: What if i use cucumber juice and lime juice along with haldi to remove sun tan and how to extract cucumber juice?
A: Mash the cucmber with the skin still on to get the juice. You may then need to squeeze the juice out with your hands. You can use lime juice with haldi and besan, and scrub your face with this to try and remove the tan. However. simply applying lime juice and cucumber will help lighten skin over time.
Q: Hi I am 15 years old and my skin color is dusky. But my face is darker than my whole body. I mixed lemon juice with cucumber juice because i have oily skin. How long will it take for the color to change? Will it ever change? It looks very wierd to have your face darker than your whole body! Even my friends noticed the difference. Can u suggest something plz..? thankyou
A: Your face is possibly darker because it is exposed to the sun more than the rest of your body. Unless you reduce this exposure, nothing will really work. Even in the shade outdoors, UV radiation reflects back onto you. Always apply suncreen, during the day, even if you are in the shade. Also, the lemon and cucumber juice works fairly quickly. You should notice a slight difference in another week or two.
Q: Hi, I have a doubt about this bleach product called 'Blondor Geli 1+3' (Wella's). It is sold in the middle east in little sachets of 10gms each. They are blue coloured granules. I believe they are used at beauty parlours in India as well. Could anyone tell me how to use the product, what it should be mixed with and in what proportion and how long it is to be applied. I am dusky complexioned and I want to bleach my face. Thanx a lot!
A: Bleaches like Jolen, Fem, Ayur are popular here. These come in a set of 2 bottles - one has the powder, and the other has the cream. The mixing instruction are written down on the box. I am not sure if Blondor Geli is for the face. It could be for the hair on your head. For the face, I suggest you stick to Jolen. Mix a little powder with around double or more cream.
Bleaching your face will not lighten it much. It will essentially bleach all your facial hair and turn it into a light golden blonde, so if you are dark skinned your facial hair will stand out.
Q: Hi there love your website i was wondering if i can apply lime juice with honey instead of lemon juice for to get a fairer complexion, which is more effective lime or lemon? thanks
A: Lemon juice is more effective than lime juice for lightening the complexion.
Q: I am suguna from USA. I have a query regarding skin complextion of my husband. Before coming to US, my husband use to be brown in color, but after coming to US his face became very dark but the rest of the body is normal(brown color). I am really worrying about his face color. He wont expose much in the sunlight also, from morning to evening he is sitting under AC only. Please give me solution for my query. I am forcing him to consult doctor, but he is not yet all intrested to consult doctor. So i should do home remedy for his face complexion.Due to white hair, he uses gorej hair dye once in a month. Is there any effect on face by using hair dye. Please give solution to my query and if possible, can you please give me the information why his face complextion is becoming darker. Thanks in advance, Awaiting for your respone.
A: Yes, very often, due to prolonged use of hair dye, the skin on the face too starts getting dark. Tell your husband to stop using the dye, and the dark stains on his face will gradually fade.
Q: My daughter of 13 yrs has very long hair but i am worried that swimming will ruin them as well as her complexion. Please suggest some natural remedies to protect her skin and hair.
A: Make sure she wears sunscreen before swimming in the sun. No, her hair will not get ruined. If she swims in the sun she should apply waterproof sunscreen spray on her hair. She should also condition her hair regularly, and wash her hair after a swim with a very gentle shampoo. Chlorine in the water will bleach her hair, but will not really cause a lot of damage if she conditions her hair regularly. The best thing for her to do would be to apply a mixture of egg and curd to her hair and wash off after half an hour with cool water. She should do this once a week, and her hair will be in great condition. Her skin too will be fine as long as she applies waterproof sunscreen before swimming in the sun. Also, she could apply malai to her body when taking a shower after a swim, which is a natural way to keep her body moisturised.
Q: Hello Mam, I saw your website and found some interesting tips to increase complexion. My skin used to be oily before but now a days i think it is normal or getting dry. But when i get tensed, then i feel my skin is oily again. I want to ligthen my complexion, so should i use lime juice+honey or lime juice+cucumber juice. Which is the best option.
A: Use lime juice and honey, and every once in a while apply lime juice and cucumber.
Q: Is lemon juice a permanet skin lightener or is it temporary and how showed it be used, thank you.
A: It is temporary. If you have oily skin, use it with cucumber juice. If your skin is normal to dry, use it with the same amount of honey. Wash it off after fifteen minutes.
Q: when i used the haldi and besan paste it made my skin three different colours? Is this the paste or a difiency? If so which one? Tell me how to make the paste so i can see if im doing it properly! How long should i leave it on for?How can i get rid of these colour changes? HELP! Thanx!!
A: Haldi essentially leaves a slight yellow tinge on your face which is a little difficult to wash off completely. So it is best to put this paste on at night, or on a Sunday morning if you are planning to spend the day at home. After you wash your face a few times your natural colour will return. Also, you could try applying a little less haldi.
Q: Hi, I'm from bangladesh. i want to have laser treatment. i have dark & coarse facial hair. my complexion is wheatish. 1. will laser work for me?
2. I'll get married in may/june. when should i start treatment to get cured?
3. since i'm from bangladesh, i can't visit india in 4-6 weeks interval for next sittings. can the sittings be arranged in a different way such as 3 months interval?
4. Will it harm the treatment process?
5. After how many sittings i'll be able to see a result?
6. How should i get an appointment & how many days before shall i contact u?
7. I've heard about kaya skin clinic, blush, mumbai & new look kolkata. Which one will be the most reliable one ? please don't avoid this question cause i don't want yo be cheated after traveling another country and spend lot of money. Please send me reply as early as possible. Eagerly waqiting for u'r reply.and please send me the answer via email.
A: Start your treatment as soon as possible, so you can get a few sittings done before your wedding.
Yes, you can visit India every 4-6 weeks for your sittings. In fact, there is no fixed time. The only thing is that the hair should have grown back before the next sitting. You can even get the treatment done every 3-4 months, or a longer gap. The gap between sittings doesn't matter, and it will NOT harm the treatment process.
You should be able to see a result after 4 sittings. Of course the hair will all go after one treatment, but then it will keep growing back. It will start growing back really less after 4 sittings or so, but this entirely depends on your hair. It differs from case to case, because everyone has different hair.
Kaya is very good, and it gives a lifetime guarantee. This means that they charge a fixed amount, and you can go to them for as many sittings as you require. IZ in Bombay is also very good, and is much cheaper than Kaya. You can buy a pre-paid package from IZ for 4 sittings, and if you require more, you can then pay per sitting. Call up the parlours for an appointment and visit them before you pay your money. I know someone who went to IZ for sideburns, but then she got a scar the next day. The doctor said the scar would definitely fade, and it faded, so some scarring may sometimes happen, but the scar DOES fade, so don't worry. Just don't do it too close to the wedding. That is why I am saying that you should go for it as soon as possible.
Hope this helps, and all the best!
Q: I've used a bleaching cream for about 3 days and then stopped it. Now, my skin is discolored. How can i cure this? (i use sunscreen) Please help. s.s
A: The discolouration will go on its own. Stop using the cream, perhaps you are allergic to it or it is not a good product. By bleaching cream do you mean facial bleach like Jolen or Fem? These are supposed to be used just once in a month, or once every 15 days at the very most. Avoid sun exposure as far as possible, to avoid further discolouration. Apply good quality moisturiser regularly to counter any dryness.
Q: Dear Doctor I am a new vistor to this site I came to know about this site from my freinds my problem is that I have a average complexion so I started drinking orange juice and grape juice daily will it increase my skin color and more over I have another doubt shall I keep black grape juice for face as a face pack eagerly waiting for ur reply plz help me thanking u Neha Reddy
A: No, it will not increase your skin colour. However, drinking juice is definitely good for your health. Also, the juice of any fresh seasonal fruit makes a nourishing face pack. Grape juice is good for skin with blemishes or for normal skin. If your skin is dry avoid applying it.
Q: I would like to become fair skinned and to clear my face of pimples and marks and have a clear skin. I also would like to have an even toned complexion!
A: To improve your complexion, do this, and complete the form for a personalised report. Skin Sense Also, make sure you read Pimple SOS combat pimples. Cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin daily.
Read the answers to the queries below for further information.
Q: My face is darker than my chest and back area. can I darken it by laying in the sun to make it even or should I bleach my face with lemon juice or agent. which is best? please respond.
A: The harsh rays of the sun are not very good for your skin. You could however apply sunscreen and lie in the sun for around twenty minutes a couple of times a week, keeping your face covered with a towel so you get an even tan. On the other hand, applying lemon and honey will only lighten your face slightly. You will need to avoid the sun completely to ensure your face doesn't get tanned again, which may not be feasable. I'd say, do a combination. Tan your body in short intervals, and apply lemon juice and honey to your face for ten to fifteen minutes everyday. Honey is good for your skin, so your skin will reap some benefits by doing this.
Q: My hand skin is darker then the rest part of my body please help me to recover the complexion
A: This is probably due to sun exposure. The only way to combat this would be to avoid exposure to the sun. You could also try applying fairness lotions on your hands. Don't use too much soap on your hands as you may dry them out, and if you do household work, always apply hand cream when you finish up.
Q: I had asked a question earlier but did not receive any reply. Will it be sent to my email? My question was: On how to make a tomato paste as stated in "Tomato Me" for applying onto the face. Also, I wish to ask, after applying lemon juice via cotton wool onto one's pimple for about 10 mins, should one wash the face after the treatment? or leave it on throughout the night? Please advise. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you! Varshini
A: Simply mash a tomato or put it in a blender so you get a paste. Apply this paste to your face.
You can leave the lemon juice on overnight.
Q: You are advising lemon + honey again and again, but kindly let me know how much honey and lemon drops i have to mix.?? and second my all inner body is whitish except my hands and face,i know its due to sun light i know you will go for sunblock, when i put sunblock then it seems greasy which results in dark complexion again..? the area where i am living,i think we don have much beauty stuff except ordinary soaps and shampoos.. thanks...i wud bhe thankful if u replied me on ma mail id .. its firstname.lastname@example.org
A: Mix lemon and honey in equal proportions.
Regarding your dark hands and face, the only way to combat this is to avoid exposure to the sun. Wear a large hat everytime you step out. Sunscreens combat harmful UV exposure, but do not prevent your skin from darkening.
Q: Hello, I was just wondering why when lightening your skin you only should leave the leamon on for 10 minutes? I usually wear the mixture out during the day, is that bad?
A: Well, lemon is a little strong, and it's best not to leave something so strong and acidic on your face the entire day. It tends to dry out the skin, which is why honey is added. Ten minutes is the minimum you should leave it on for it to have any effect. Cucumber juice is relatively mild, and is also a natural bleach, so why don't you try cucumber juice instead?
Q: I am 24yrs old with a very dark, But beautiful complexion. In my business I have to maintain a very upkeep appearance. As a result of constant exposure to the sun, I have become 3 shades darker. I was a very milky choclate complexion, but now have become a pretty close "jet black" complexed. From reading the site, I gather I can use cucumber juice to lighten my face, mixed with lemon juice. Can I only use cucumber juice and get the same affect, as if I was mixing the solution with lemon juice? Will it take longer for my complexion to lighten, or will it not lighten at all? Also I use Retin-A .05% cream to keep my skin clear. I it safe to try to lighten my skin with cucumber juice, and/or with lemon juice, while using Retin-A?
A: Yes, using only cucumber juice will work as well. You can also leave it on for longer, even overnight, since it is not harsh on the skin like lemon tends to be. Cucumber juice is safe and can be used along with Retin-A.
Q: Why do i have terrible spots around the time of ovulation?
A: This happens due to hormonal changes. Drink a lot ofwater, at least ten glasses a day. And keep your face oil/grease free.
Q: I have fairly brown skin. I was a athlete in my younger days. Due to jogging and exercises there was rubbing of the skin and hence the inner thighs have blackened a bit. I would want to know if there is any way that i can make my skin lighter there. Are there any home remedies.. please suggest.. Thanks..
A: First, target losing weight around the thighs so they don't rub against each other, or they will get dark again. Lemon is a natural bleach, so you can apply it to your inner thighs while bathing, and wash it off in ten minutes. Do this everyday. Don't wear polyester fabrics around that area. In the summer, try and stick to linen trousers or cotton salwar kameezes. Also, apply Shower to Shower powder to your inner thighs.
Q: I have girls aged seven and 2 months old. my elder daughter is dark like her father and ever since she of 2 she always said she wanted to be fair like my mother(her grandmother). now my 2month old daughter is very fair and sometimes i can sense that my elder daughter feels little inferior and can see the pain in her eyes. what to do? i there a way to make her skin little ligheter. now she will be going to grade two in a small town near toronto where all her classmates would be white canadians. i afraid how she will cope up with that and will she have any friends. she is very intelligent and good looking. her english is excellent and tops in her class. still i am always afraid that due to her skin color she might feel bad or have to face adverse remarks. my husband and i are more careful now when dealing with her ,at the same time not making her conscious of that. how to deal ? how to make her understand that we are least bothered about her skin color and these things are not at all important and worth ignoring. from every other aspect she is great. please advise
A: Make sure you never make statements about how someone is so beautiful because she is fair. Western culture appreciates a tanned complexion. Stores abound with bronzing products and fake tan products. Make sure she knows this. Pass comments like "What a wonderful tan". Explain the entire concept of how far people go to tan their skins. Let her know how people risk skin cancer by trying to get a tan. Ask your friends to co-operate and to praise her 'tanned' colour. In my view once you start trying to make her skin lighter, you will be endorsing the fact that lighter skin is better. Her skin in any case will only lighten by very few shades, making her constantly dissatisfied. Most Indian models are dark-skinned; Sushmita Sen, who was Miss Universe, is extremely dark-skinned. Since you asked, lemon is a natural bleach, and you can mix it with an equal amount of honey (if her skin is dry) or cucumber (if her skin is oily - cucumber is also a natural bleach), and apply it to her face. You could tell her it is good for her skin, without letting on that it will make her fair.
Q: Hi, you have suggested to apply lemon and honey mixed together to get a lighter shade of complexion, but kindly tell me if I can store the mixture in fride for say about 10 days before making a fresh one for the next 10 days. will by doing this the lemon mixture loose its value. This I am asking because I am a working women and always have lack of time to regularly go for the purchase of the same. Pls do answer my question. I need ur help. thanks
A: No, sorry but you cannot store the mixture as it grows bad pretty fast. You could perhaps try and store it for a day or two, but no more than that.
Q: I been trying honey and lime paste..its good and now i wana try something new....people said haldi also lightens the skin...i'm just wondering is it the same haldi we use for cooking or different one.
A: It's the same haldi you use for cooking. However, commercial haldi that you find in packets in stores are not always pure. It is best you get the haldi root itself (which resembles ginger) and grind it before use so you are applying pure haldi. Don't apply haldi just before going out, because your face stays yellow for some time after applying the paste. Also, apply very little haldi, and mix it with something (like malai if you have dry skin).
Q: My ful body is dark and i want to make it fair.please tell me proper suggetion.how to make it fair.my age is
A: You can't make your full body fair. You could apply lemon and honey to your face to make it a few shades lighter. Concentrate on keeping the rest of your body well moisturised so your skin glows. Dark skin can be very attractive. Fair or dark does not matter, as long as your skin glows with health.
Q: I would like to get a pinkish skin im fair im a bit pinkish also but get only some times . i would like to have a pinkish skin by applying home remedies and eating healthy . does application of honey ,lemon , cucumber makes you pinkish but i know that it improves the complexion . i have really liked this site and hoping for a better response.
A: Most Indians have a natural yellow undertone to their skin, which is beautiful in its own way. If you want a healthy glow to your skin, cut down on tea, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Also, take up yoga - pranayam. The positive effects of deep breathing yogic exercises show up almost instantly on the complexion. The redness on cheeks due to extreme cold is caused when blood vessels just under the skin's surface burst due to the cold. It is also caused by regular exercise, due to increased circulation. Taking a bath with cold water every single day should help with circulation as well and may give you a pink glow. Or, cheat and rub a few ice cubes on your cheeks before stepping out to give you a natural pink glow.
Q: Hi, My complexion is medium fair. I have slight black mark on legs due to shaving. Pls. suggest me some home made tips.
A: Always apply body lotion on your legs after shaving as shaving is drying. Also, avoid exposing your legs to the sun, especially after shaving.
Q: Hi!...i have few questions
1.how to make my complextion go fairer with a glow to it by using natural ingredients.
2.As u replied for one of the question in this website saying to use lemon juice + baby oil on face and to keep it overnight, can i use almond oil instead of baby oil.will it make any difference. Does this mixture make skin fairer with glow.
3. i have a really fine and thin hair. how to make is grow thick.Does caster oil help. what ingredients can i put to make it thick.
4. Can i keep lemonjuice outside instead of fridge.Keeping it outside does it not work on the skin the way it should when it is kept in a fridge. I would be greatful if you could answer these questions of mine. Thanking you Nandani
A: You may get pimples if you leave almond oil on your face overnight, depending on your skin type. Simply mix an equal amount of lemon juice and honey, and apply it to your face. Wash off in ten minutes. Make it fresh everytime before using it. Don't store the mixture in, or out of a fridge. Yes, lemon juice lightens the skin.
Castor oil is not very helpful for the hair. Apply almond, olive or coconut oil instead. Cut your hair in one length, shoulder length to make it look thicker.
Q: Hi i have been using cumcumber juice on my face every day for over a month, but my face is still the same, there is no difference, i read that applying curds and lemon will help lighten the skin is this true, and what is curds?
A: Curd is non-flavoured yogurt. Lemon is a bleach, so you can mix it with curd or with an equal amount of honey to bleach your face. Cucumber is a natural bleach as well, but lemon is stronger. You could also mix lemon with cucumber juice. Essentially, you need to mix lemon with something to remove the sting.
Q: which is the best cream to use with a foundation?.also could you suggest me a good skin crream which will give a good complexion.
A: The cream depends on your complexion type - if it is dry, oily, combination. Clinique is a very good brand. Cheris, a brand available in India, also suits most skin types. On the whole, simply applying a cream will not give you good skin. It is the entire process of cleaning your skin and keeping it well moisturised, making sure you use a moisturiser that does not block your pores - which gives you good skin. You can use any moisturiser with a foundation, depending on your skin type. You could also apply foundation with a damp sponge, in which case you do not need to add moisturiser.
Q: I have heard that Lemon+Honey is good for the complexion. Lemon is a natural bleach but will it affect the skin if used everyday since It is more acidic?
A: No it will not affect the skin. Leave on for ten minutes, and wash off. The honey removes the sting from the lemon.
Q: Is it ok to use radish juice along wih lime and cucumber to get a fairer skin? one more thing I am suffering from hair loss from passed 8 - 10 months and it has become so intense that i am becoming bald so can u plz plz plz suggest me something very effective for this . i.e for hair growth i love silky and smooth hair so plzzz do something. ( i am just 18 yrs old ). my skin is oily so i have regular pimples and pimple marks plz suggest something for this . my eyes start burning if there is any increase in the temperature or while seeing t.v . i want some remedie for relaxing and keeping my eyes cool and beautiful. i would also like to know how to get fat cause i am a bit lean not very skinny but a bit lean and finally plzzz can u suggest me something to grow my height . if u could tell me some remidies i would be very gr8 ful to u cause i am very causious about my appearence. thank you !!!
A: 1. Lime and cucumber will do the job. There is no need to add radish.
2. Losing some hair on a daily basis is very normal. If you feel you are going bald, it may be hereditary. Eat more fish and coconut and take up yoga.
3. Wash your face with Clean and Clear face wash often, as soon as you feel it has become oily. Every time you come home from outside, wash your face. Blocked pores lead to pimples.
4. Put cucumber slices on your eyes to relax them.
5. Drink a tall glass of banana juice everyday. Increase the number of chapatis you eat by one chapati each meal.
Hope this helps!
Q: In order to even my skin tone, and make it fairer, what am i meant to mix cucumber juice with, and how much?
A: Using only cucumber juice is also good enough. You could add lemon if your skin is oily. Add just a few drops because lemon can sting.
Q: I am 22 Years Old Female. Can you Suggest me all the steps required for a healthy, flawless, Glowing Complexion
A: The basic steps required for a flawless complexion are cleansing, toning and moisturising, daily. Read this article for personalised information, depending on your skin type .
Q: I have wheatish complexion and have been using fair & lovely for about two years now, though it lightens my skin I'm worried about the side effects it can cause. Will it cause skin cancer? As my working hours are tight I do not get time to apply home remedies to lighten skin and it's easier to apply these creams. Can I continue it's use. Will it cause SKIN CANCER? please help me by answeing this query as soon as possible.I'm very worried. shabana
A: No, there is nothing to suggest that Fair and Lovely will cause skin cancer. Skin cancer is most often caused by UV radiation. However, I suggest you give it a break for a while and use home remedies whenever possible. Fairness creams may contain high doses of mercury, which can lead to other health problems. Fair and Lovely is a reputed brand, and should be safe for use, but you could get it tested at a pathology lab just to make sure.
Q: Hi, I'm a 15yr old. I used to be very fair. Nowadays, due to exposure to sunlight, My complexion darkened. You say applying equal amounts f Nimbu juice and honey would help lighten the complexion. How fast would that help lighten the complexion? You also said lemon juice and cucumber juice help. What would happen if you use both solutions? Would it help lighten the complexion more and quickly? Also, is there any difference between using nimbu + honey and nimbu+cucumber? Is there any particular timing when you put these things on the face? When should you put it in order to get better and quicker results? Please reply asap, thanks
A: Use lemon-honey if you have dry skin, and lemon-cucumber if your skin is oily. It doesn't matter what time you put it on.
Q: I have a fair complexion skin but my neck has become dark over the past 2 yrs. I feel very uncomfortable with this. Please suggest, how to get rid of this blackness?
A: Don't wear synthetic fabrics around the neck. Protect it from the sun by applying sunscreen. When you apply moisturiser to your face, don't forget your neck. Drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water daily to flush out toxins.
Q: I want to have a fair complexion i am 18 years old and have a wheaten like colour......how to have a fair complexion?
A: You won't be able to have a complete fair complexion, although you may be able to lighten your skin by a few shades. Apply lemon juice mixed with honey, or apply cucumber juice to your face, and wash off after ten minutes.
Q: Hi, i read about almond oil..are there any types of oils?what is sweet oil is it good for hair and face??? kindly answer soooonnn.. thankq
A: Yes, sweet almond oil can be applied to the face. It softens it. But don't apply it if your skin is oily, and wash off with water after 5-10 minutes. Almond oil can also be applied all over your body after a shower, when it is still damp. Then gently wipe skin with a towel.

Q: Hi, FOllowing up on my orevious question. I have ai hour commute each way everyday and i go on freeways directly under sun. that is why i use spf 35. Would spf 15 be enough for my situation? Whaat do u mean by lighter moisturizer? Oil free one? Thanks Moushumi
A: Yes, SPF 15 should be fine. Also, if you drive to work, you could consider getting a stronger sun shade on your windscreen, and darker tints on your windows. Make sure you wear sunglasses. If your skin is not dry, use an oil free moisturiser. You could also use a moisturiser with an in-built sunscreen for daily facial use, instead of using a thick suncreen on your face. Alternatively, wash off the thick sunscreen when you reach office and apply a moisturiser with an in-built sunscreen.
Q: For the last few weeks,i have try the lemon+honey recipe for a fairer complexion, avoiding around the eyes area. Now i have a nice complexion but its darker on the eyes!! what should i do ?
A: Put cucumber juice on the area around the eyes.
Q: I m a college girl and suffer sun tan such that my bright colour is fading and i m tanning very fast.Suggest me some home remedy or market brandthat would decrease tan n even return my original colour.
A: Wear sunscreen everytime before stepping out into the sun, and apply it to all body parts that will be exposed to the sun, such as hands, neck, face... There is no cream to remove your tan, a tan fades away on its own. Prevention is best. Wear a cap while travelling, and you can remove it and put it in your bag when you reach college. Put cucumber juice on your face to lighten skin slightly.
Q: Hello Mam, i'd sent 1 query about my dark complexion also some days back but the answer hasn't come yet but never mind i'm sure you will help me as you've helped hundreds of others with their beauty woes. I have another problem which only adds to my already bad face. My eyes are small and appear very inward as if they need to be brought forward . Nobody else in my home has such eyes but i guess this is because i've been wearing high-power glasses since ten years of age. also the supposed white of my eye is not bright white and is slightly creamish and dull and the black one is also dullish. Though i have no iron deficiency. All this makes my eyes look pathetic and gives an old and dull look to my face. is there anything that can be done about it ?any exercises, remedies ? please mam help me out with this problem and also reply to the earlier one.i will be truly grateful to you.
A: Try applying cucumber juice at night and wash it off in the morning. It will lighten your face slightly. Why do you say your face is bad? Look after your complexion, make sure your skin is pimple-free, drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. If your complexion is flawless, your skin can look beautiful, dark or light, and while there isnt much you can do to change your skin colour, your complexion is definitely under your control. Regarding your eyes, do you still wear glasses, or do you wear contacts now? If you wear glasses, you may be surprised that some people look nicer in glasses, as long as they wear the right frame that suits them. Make sure you thread your eyebrows regularly to 'open' your eyes and make your eyes look bigger. Dark blue pencil eyeliner makes your eyes look bigger as well. Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler and apply mascara. Doing this should help make your eyes stand out. Exercise regularly, go for a brisk walk if nothing eles. This makes your skin glow, and will reduce dullness. Also, try bathing with as cold water as your body can stand to improve circulation. Make sure you get enough sleep. Close your eyes and apply cucumber to your lids to refresh and sooth them. Eye drops help brighten your eyes, so use them.
Q: I m 21 yrs old and my problem is that i have dark Complexion and dark circles also.i am very upset b'coz of this .could u plz help me to sought out my problems waiting for ur reply
A: First of all, having a dark complexion is not a 'problem'. Many dark complexion women are beautiful. While there are certain things you can do to lighten your complexion, remember that your complexion will only get a few shades lighter - you will not be able to turn fair. Fairness creams also help slightly, but the more effective fairness creams may have a high mercury content, which can prove dangerous to your health. Apply cucumber juice at night and wash off in the morning, for slightly lighter, more even-toned skin. Go through this article: My Fair Lady Also, For remedies for Dark Circles, read this article.
Q: Hi, I'm 42 years old. Please provide home remedies for facial such as: (1) face lifting (2) face whitening1
A: For face lifting, concentrate on facial exercises and take up yoga. Egg white is a good face tightening mask. For face whitening, simply apply a mixture of equal amounts of lemon and honey to your face, and wash off in ten minutes.
Q: Hi, how are u? could u please tell me how to make a herbal body wrap at home
A: Different body wraps have different herbs. A mixture of turmeric, curds, flour and lemon makes a good paste, and you can apply it all over your body. Alternatively, rub a few drops of olive oil all over your damp body after a shower. If you have access to a steam room, nothing like it, and enter the steam room after applying oil to your body.

I thankyou in advance for answering my querries. B.Regards :- Shahtanya
A: Go ahead and put dahi, besan, haldi on your body. It provides nourishment to the skin. It will not remove moisture from your skin. You can add nimbu as your skin is oily. Put it on your face also. It makes a good face pack.
Wash your face twice a day with a face wash. Follow up with a moisturiser.
Leave suscreen on throughout the day. Apply a good brand of foundation on your face over the sunscreen if the sunscreen is very visible, and wash it off in the evening with a face wash.
Continue using your Vichy creams. You could alternate a non-retinol moisturiser with a retinol one.
No, cucumber will not dry your face. For open pores, splash your face with icy cold water to tighten pores. Toners also tighten pores. There is no permanent remedy.
Multani mitti cleans oily skin. It does not suit some people and they develop pimples, but if it has been suiting you, you may continue using it. If you have pimples, stop using face scrub and multani mitti. Apply a good brand of compact powder. If you find it is irritating your skin, change the brand and wear it occasionally.
I don't have much faith in pimple creams, but they should be used only if you have pimples, and not as a preventive. If you feel your pimples are going after applying your pimple cream, continue with it. But if your complexion is not clearing, stop using it and stick to washing your face. As you are 33, use a regular face wash, and not a face wash for oily skin.
No need to put honey.
Q: I have a lot of little balck hair and blackheads on my nose and white patches on one cheek. What can i do? Please help.
A: It is easy to remove blackheads from your nose. Blackhead removal strips are available in the market for around 50 rupees for a packet of 5 strips. Try Ponds or Boire. Make sure you read the instructions well before trying it out. If possible, ask the person at the counter to explain to you how you should use the strips. Alternatively, you could also go to a parlour and ask them to remove the blackheads from your nose. They will steam your nose and remove the blackheads with a blackhead remover, and will then finish off by threading your nose to remove all the fine hair. Also, buy a facial scrub and scrub your nose gently EVERYDAY with the scrub. Your blackheads will not return.
Regarding the white patches, avoid exposure to the sun and don't use old products or creams on your face. Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday. If the patches don't go away, see a dermatologist.
Q: What can I do to lighten my dark elbows and knees?
A: Cut a lemon in half, and apply the juice to your elbows and knees. Keep scrubbing your elbows with the lemon for at least five minutes. Do this daily. Make sure you apply cream to these areas as the darkness is often caused due to dryness.

Q: Hey can you please tell me if mixing borax with lemon juice or baking soda with lemon juice and applied on the face will have any lightening effects? Or would it not be considered suitable to do that to facial skin or any harmfull effects which may arise out of it? Also my forehead is darker then the rest of my face and the beauty cliniq that I go to get laser hair removal done a women recomended I also get IPL(INTENSE PULSE LIGHT) laser done on my forehead which would get rid of the discoloration of my forehead. My forehead has been darker for a couple of years maybe 4-5 years now so can you please tell me if having this laser treatment done would get rid of my problem. As I am scared from hearing all these stories of people geting scarred and stuff etc. Would you recomend the treatment? Please reply back soon.
A: IPL is effective in removing blemishes, age spots, red spots, pigmentation etc from skin, but whether or not it will cause scarring depends on the skill of the practitioner. If you are already undergoing laser treatment and are satisfied with the results, you could consider going in for IPL as well. Ask to see some before and after photographs, and contact some people who have undergone the treatment to find out if it was effective and if they were happy with it or if it left scarring. Please don't apply borax to your face. Apply honey with lemon juice instead, or apply cucumber juice to your forehead. Apply cucumber juice every night to your forehead and wash it off in the morning, and see if it brings results. However, any results will be temporary and you will have to continue applying cucumber juice. IPL on the other hand affords a permanent treatment.
Q: Hi, I am with fair complexion and my face would be clean without any black marks or pimples before marriage, but now in my cheeks it started with a reddish bubble and then in other area in my cheeks these bubbles are raised, I don't know whether it is pimple or heat boils, once it developed and turns to black circle, which is remaining on my face, cheeks. It would be great if there is any remedy for this, Rightnow I am using turneric mixed with water in the particular area during the night times, I don't know applying turmeric is good or not, Please help me.
A: Turmeric is definitely good for the skin, but try washing it off after it dries, and don't leave it on overnight. After all, your skin needs to breathe, and you should avoid blocking pores overnight. Drink at least 10 glasses of water everyday. Every morning, when you wake up, have one glass of water with the juice of one nimbu, before having anything else, and even before brushing your teeth. This will clear out your system and rid your body of toxins. Are you living in a new city after your marriage? It could be the change in climate or even the start of a sex life that has triggered the onset of pimples. If it is heat boils, avoid eating heaty foods. Avoid chocolates, soft drinks and mangoes. Wash your face with a face wash twice a day. Also, make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturise your face every night.
Q: After my delivery my skin is become very dull and my complextion is become little dark please let me know what I should eat to get back my complextion or if any home made face packs, my lips are also become dark please help me revert to my email id with a sutiable remedy?
A: It is normal for your skin to become a little bad after delivery. Often, women's complexions turn darker after delivery. This will gradually get back to normal. Eat a balanced diet and drink at least ten glasses of water daily.
Q: Is there any solution in addition to honey, cucumber juice and nimbu? Is it possible to really look fair? I had fair complexion during my childhood, but as I grew up I lost it I think because of sun rays. what's the solution for it?
A: You can bleach your face with a bleach available in the market and try a herbal fairness cream. Make sure you apply sunscreen before stepping out. Everything will lighten your face only slightly.
Q: You recommend applying a mixture of cucumber juice and lemon juice in order to make it lighter. How long should it take to work, or even for me to see results
A: Some women report seeing a difference within a week. Do it daily. You could apply it at night, and wash it off in the morning for better results. If you are dark you will not get fair, but your skin will turn a few shades lighter, and your compexion will look better and more even.
Q: I have dark complexion. So please tell me some home made things to make me be fair.
A: You will not be able to get 'fair' but certain products do help lighten your skin slightly. You could apply a mixture of nimbu and honey, equal amounts, to your face, and wash off after fifteen minutes. Do this everyday. Also, drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily to detox your system - and clean it up from within.
Q: Do Honey make our hair to grey fast ? I am applying honey and lime on my face everyday. Its good, But my friends told honey can turns our hair to white is it true ?
A: It is just a myth that honey turns hair grey, and there is no proof as yet. In any case, do not apply honey to the hair on your head, just apply it to your face. Honey and lime will definitely lighten your skin, and may even lighten the hair on your face. If you are not comfortable with using honey, you could apply a mixture of cucumber and lime to your face. Honey is very good for the complexion though.
Q: Hi, I'm of 18. I am a good looking guy but I have oily face and little dark. So, I want to improve my complexion and glow my face always what should I do for it, I have little spots on my face ?
A: Wash your face with a face wash for oily skin. Use Clean and Clear, it is very effective. Wash your face at least 3 times a day with this initially, and then when your face starts clearing up, use it twice a day. Apply Lacto Calamine lotion to your face at night before sleeping. This is a soothing lotion and it rids your skin of the excess oil. Apply it generously after washing your face at night.
Q: Hi, my complexion is good, but people say I look old too matuared. I am 23 but they say I look like 26 what can I do. What shall I apply ?
A: If people say you look older, that is not because of your skin. It is becuase of various other factors such as your weight, hair style, hair colour, make-up etc. Are you overweight? If you lose some weight, you will look younger. Use less make-up. Heavy eye make-up, black kajal, makes you look older. Light eye pencils and pastel coloured eye shadows make you look younger. Same goes for lipstick. Apply light shades of lipstick, or apply only gloss. Curly hair makes you look younger, so you could consider getting a soft perm or if you have straight hair, consider cutting it to shoulder lenght. Blunt cuts take years off a person's face. Exercise gives you a youthful glow, so exercise regularly, and take up yoga.
Q: What is best facial pack I can use ? Well I am 23 fair, good look. But my skin look dull and I want to make it glow youthful fair. I mean naturaly. Please help me !
A: Apply a mixture of equal amounts of nimbu and honey to your face. This will give you a glow, and it should lighten your skin colour slightly as nimbu is a natural bleach.
Q: Please do tell me if I do use the treatment of nourishing skin with urad dal and almond, will it turn my facial hair to golden colour?
A: No, it will not turn your hair golden. Commercially available bleach will do that.
Q: I have always had a radiant skin. Lately I am having pimples on the right cheek. I am wondering if this is becoz of sun. I use SPF 35. The pimples are not going at all. I wash face 2 times a day. APply night creme. What should i do to get back my glorious skin?
A: SPF 35 may be a little too strong for daily use, as far as your skin is concerned. You could use it if you are going to be outdoors in the afternoon sun for a long period of time, eg. when you are at a beach. For daily wear you could use a less strong sunscreen. An SPF of 8 to 15 should suffice. Also, if your skin is oily, you may want to switch to a lighter moisturiser. Continue washing your face twice a day, and drink at least ten glasses of water daily.
Q: How to choose a sunscreen?
A: It all depends on how sensitive your skin is to the sun. If you are going to be outdoors in the sun the entire day, you should use a sunscreen with a higher SPF, maybe something like 40 or 50. But if your skin doesn't burn easily, you could do with something milder. If you are going to be mostly indoors, you could use a sunsreen with an SPF of around 8 or 10.
Q: I want good face pack which can be used everyday for a fair, glowing, wrinkle-free face.
A: Apply a mixutre of cucumber juice, lemon and honey to your face and wash off after ten minutes. Do this everyday and your face will glow. Apply old curd to your face and wash off every morning. This moisturises the skin and will delay the onset of wrinkles. However, if you have oily skin this may cause further oiliness.
Q: I want to try the homemade recipe of lemon + honey for a fair complexion. when applying on my face, should i put it on my eyes as well?
A: No, avoid the immediate undereye area, which is very delicate. Also, there is no need to put it on the eyelids.
Q: My face skin is uneven. It looks dark brown at some places and at some places its ligh brown. Can you please tell me how can I get a even skin (preferably the lighter shade to look fair).
A: It seems that you have uneven pigmentation. If so, you should avoid going out in the sun without a sunscreen.
Drink at least ten glasses of water in a day. Drink two glasses of water in the morning when you wake up, before brushing your teeth.
Try applying lime (nimbu) to the discoloured area. Do this everyday, and wash off after 15 minutes. You could also apply lime to the affected area at night once in a while, and wash off in the morning when you bathe.
Bleaching the affected area once a month will lighten it too. Do not bleach when pregnant.
Various creams and lotions that claim to reduce pigmenation are also available. You could try them to see if they work for you.
Homeopathy medication has also been known to treat pigmentation, but while there are no guarantees, this medication is safe, has no side effects, and is worth a shot.
Q: I have fair skin on my legs but my upper body is dark how can I make my upper body skin fair?
A: Your upper body is tanned because it is exposed to sunlight, and your legs are probably not. The only way to counter this is to avoid stepping out in the sun. Even sunscreen protects you from UV radiation, but it will not prevent you from tanning.
Q: What facial pack I can use for daily?? and also another doubt, is massaging while facial, loosen the skin? thank you.
A: No, massaging during a facial will not loosen the skin, as long as enough cream has been applied to the face. Massage stimulates the skin and increases circulation. The face pack you use depends on your skin type, if your skin is oily, dry, normal or combination. Unless I have this information, I cannot suggest a face pack.
Q: I have hair on my chin. I mix lemon, rose water and glycerin to apply on face for glow. Does lemon cause hair growth on face too? What else can I use for glow on skin.
A: No, lemon does not cause hair to grow on your face. You could apply moisturiser for a glow. These days some foundations and compact powders cause a glow on the face too. Exercise causes a natural glow.
Q: From the past 18 years, my face colour has been changing to black and is black now.I'm 32 now and have oily skin on face.Whereas other parts of body are of fair complexion. Can u suggest me what i should do to my face to get back to the fair complexion i had earlier?
A: Cleanse and tone your face twice a day, and use an oil-free mosituriser at least once daily. Make it a point to wear a sunscreen or a foundation with an in-built sunscreen before venturing out in the mornings or afternoons. In fact, you should have on some sunscreen protection all the time, even when indoors. Avoid stepping out between noon to 4 pm, and if you must, wear a hat. Everyday, apply a mixture of a few drops of cucumber juice and lemon to your face. Wash off after 10-15 minutes. Read Sun Fun for more tips on sun protection.
Q: My skin has got burned due to excess exposure in the sun, as I have to travel daily in the mid day from 12:30 to 1:30. How can I reduce my tanned skin color? Can I regain my original color?
A: The tanned skin colour will gradually fade away on its own. Make sure you apply sunscreen the next time you step into the sun. Also, read below for some home remedies.
Q: i went to this forum recently. And the members their are trying these supplements that is 250mg Glutathione and 1000mg Vitamin C with Rosehips....the thing is they reckon they are getting results as to their skin looks much healthier n these supplements taken together over a couple of months has helped with whitening of their skin tone as well. A number of people have tried this n are saying they are getting results. and they said that to maintain their newer skintone once they have acheived the results to reduce the Glutathione to 100mg and Vit c+ Rosehips to about 500mg. They also reckon that to speed up the whitening process while taking this supplements to exfoliate regularly with a scrub or a whitening soap etc. Do you think that this could be true that the gluta capsules with vitamins could result in skin whitening a couple of months.?? Whats your opinion on this. plz reply back soon thanks.
A: Glutathione is not a whitening agent. It is manufactured within the body itself and is not only essential for antioxidant acitivites, but it is a powerful antioxidant in itself. In fact, it has also been called 'The Ultimate Antioxidant.' It detoxes the body, which is why members of this forum found their skin looking much healthier. Glutathione supplements do not significantly raise Glutathione levels in the bloodstream. However, taking 500 mg of Vitamin C a day helps raise Glutathione levels significantly. This is because Vitamin C helps the body manufacture Glutathione. Asparagus, walnuts and avocado are particularly rich sources of Glutathione. Glutathione supplements by themselves have not been found to be very effective. Rosehips and Vitamin C supplements again have nothing to do with skin whitening. They do cleanse the body, and the skin looks more radiant and perhaps lighter. If you take these supplements and combine them with whitening creams, the resutls should be more effective, as your skin also clears and skin tone improves on the whole.
Q: how can i have a pinker complexion ?
A: Different people have different tones of skin. Some have a yellowish complexion, others have a pink one. While there isn't much you can do to change the colour of your complexion, you could try exercising more. It brings about a healthy glow to your skin. A visit to the hills would also bring about a redness to the cheeks!
An easier option would be to simply rub an ice cube on your cheeks or splash your face with ice cold water for around five minutes before stepping out for an instant glow.
Apply a mixture of lemon and honey to your face, and wash off after ten minutes.
Cheat! It's the easiest and most effective method. Just apply a touch of pink (rouge or pink matte lipstick or lip pencil) to the apples of your cheeks and blend gently for a pink glow.
Q: My skin colour is not fair please tell me which types of vegetables for eating doing fair skin colour?
A: I am afraid that nothing you can eat will make you fair. Apply a mixture of equal amounts of lime and honey to your skin, and wash off after ten to fifteen minutes. This will brighten your complexion. Adding highlights to your hair can also make you look fairer.
Q: My complexion has darkened quite a bit due to exposure to the sun. How can my complexion be made fairer?
A: Make it a point to wear a sunscreen or a foundation with an in-built sunscreen before venturing out in the mornings or afternoons.

Q: There is no unboiled milk in US. Still could we use Pasteurized milk for cleasing face, after soap or before soap. Thanks
A: Unboiled milk has certain properties that pasturized milk does not, and as such, pasturized milk does not make a substitute face cleanser. You could, instead, wash your face with a curd and besan (gramflour) mixture.
Q: My complexion is wheatish fair. I want to know which lipstick shade should I use which will look good on me, which brand and how to apply lipstick properly?

Q: I am 22-years-old and have a wheatish complexion. I want to get fair. I apply fair and lovely and bleach my face but to no avail. Please give me some make up tips to look fair.
A: Try applying a mixture of equal amounts of cucumber juice and lemon to your face everyday. Wash off after ten minutes. Avoid going out in the sun, and apply a sunscreen during the day even if you are indoors. Apply a foundation to match your skin tone, and finish off by applying compact powder so it will stay on longer. Concentrate on achieving a glowing complexion rather than a fair one. Look well groomed. Is your hair wavy? Wavy hair tends to darken a dark complexion, so straighten it out. Get your hair coloured or highlighted professionally. This lightens the face.
Q: I have a wheatish complexion and dark elbows. Can u please suggest some home remedy to improve my complexion.
A: Avoid going out in the sun, and apply a suntan lotion - or a moisturiser or foundation which has SPF protection, every day, even when you are at home. Apply a mixture of cucumber juice and lemon to your face. Wash off after ten minutes. Also, highlights on your hair lighten and brighten the face, so you should consider getting your hair highlighted, or colour it at home. DO NOT concentrate on just looking fairer. Try and make the most of your other features.
Q: Are methi leaves good for the complexion? How can I apply them on my face? Should I make a paste?
A: While methi leaves will not harm the complexion, they have no major benefits per se. Honey or egg white help moisturise the skin, and they are good for dry, older complexions. Cucumber helps lighten the skin, and so does lime. Lime should ideally be mixed with honey before application, as it is too strong otherwise. Egg white helps firm the skin, and makes a good mask. Similary, haldi, curd, malai, besan are all good for the skin.
