A smooth skin is the symbol of a healthy body. Unfortunately, many of us neglect our skin because we are forced to spend so many hours outside the house. Dry skin should not be ignored for too long as it can worsen into skin problems like eczema. Make sure that you get a fully moisturized skin containing all the important skin oils with a paraben-free body lotion.

thanks to sujatha my daughter is 2.5 yrs old and has eczema. her skin is so sensitive that any body lotion irritates her skin.himalaya soothing body lotion for dry skin is the only thing which does not irritates. i apply this body lotion once after bath which keeps her skin soft.but the main thing that cures the rash is the oil made by boiling neem leaves in coconut oil(musterd oil can also be used)i apply it 3 times a day on the rashes and after 5 days all the rashes goes away. if the rash is stubborn u can also aply neem oil in addition to this neem leaf oil on the rashes only.

i have recently onr burning scar near above my stomach ,first i thought my skin must have got burnt, but later on i developed another such mark near my thighs.i still ignored that, but after few days some more burning rashes appeared at some places. so, i thought to consult a dr. she first gave me atarax and and a cream called lutica but of no use i went again to her after 10 days she changed the medicine and declared that its eczema and gave me terminafine to apply along with zocon.still, the condition remain the same.so, i thought to change the dr. this time i went to fortis and he gave me alparax and mamodo cream. don't know what is it bec thrs no itching though sometimes little burning sensation occurs on the rashes biut they fade with time and another one take place after that.plz help.will homeopathic med work here bec the dr said that eczema cannot be eliminated but it can be controlled so very worried. thanks in advace

my massage therapist suggested an old portuguese home remedy of rubbing the inside of a banana peel on the affected area (several unsightly eczema sores on my hands). i tried this and it seems to be helping. apparently the oils in the banana peel are very beneficial in helping to heal. you rub the spots with the inside of the banana peel and later apply a good unscented moisturizer. i have had a number of eczema outbreaks over the past 10 years and while some of the prescriptions have helped, to a degree, nothing has worked as fast or as effectively as the banana peel remedy. try it!!!!

i had bad case of eczema in early january, which started of as a small patch on my leg that got infected which spread to most parts of my body. after some research, i took epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) baths to relieve the itching, moisturise, with pure raw shea butter, also neem oil in bath, also use as an all over moisturiser (mixed with carrier oil). neem oil is excellent has same qualities quick effects of sterioids with out side affects, but it really stinks...but worth it. drink lots of water to keep hydrated internally, good diet lots of vegetables and fruit. increase omega 3 consumption. this has been working for me. most of ecxema has cleared just working on patches of skin that has darkened due to me itching. but this should fade over time. there is another product, a shielding lotion, which bonds with the skin allowing the skin to moisturise deep within, my be preferable to those who don't like using greasy product. hope this helps

i have been suffering with eczema now for 16 months. have been trying many different things, with little luck. still currently on a gluten free diet (2 1/2 months) and must be patient. could be celiac - something for others to consider. don't stop eating wheat/gluten before you're tested (my mistake). if you are celiac it could take months off gluten before eczema is better. just wanted to share a product that works amazingly well for my children - lansinoh breastfeeding cream. doesn't work as well for me (but nothing does after awhile), but really well on my son. clears it right up and takes away the itch. nursing mother's use this cream - not like regular lanolin, it's 100% pure - babies can eat it! don't listen to the doctors that say there is no cure - keep trying. sunshine & swimming in the ocean cured my daughter 2 yrs. ago, and it's never returned. my last outbreak was 13 yrs. ago, and when i gave up wheat the itching/eczema started to clear up within 24 hrs. this time it's being more stubborn. also, taking b complex, acidophilus, milk thistle (for liver), zinc (for skin), calcium (very important, most of us don't get enough), biotin (eczema can be cause of deficiency). just waiting for creosote free pine tar soap & salve. suppose to work wonders - we'll see. i'll let you all know. keep positive. you will get better - & one last thing - don't feel guilty about using cortisone when there is no other option. i've had days when i couldn't function. i am always looking for natural cures and hate taking cortisone (only a bandaid), but i have a family to care for and was desperate. 0.5% cortisone at bedtime got me on my feet - sometimes it's the only choice.

i've had eczema all my life. it comes and goes and most of the time, it's been rather tame and managable. but recently it flared up big-time, to the point where the itching keeps me up at night. i've used strong steriod cremes which help out, i've stopped drinking all milk, but i still can't figure out what's wrong now. i take carlson's fish oil, evening primrose oil, shower without soap, but to no avail. when i wash my hands for a few seconds with just water, all the oil is stripped off, and i have painful open cuts from the eczema. i am trying out olive oil as a hand moisterizer, but it's not helping very much. any ideas would be welcome. thanks for listening.

candida albicans is a common problem with many, even children. check out websites, books (the yeast connection is a good one) and naturopath doctors. conventional doctors don't have much clue as to this particualr disease and will mostly give prescriptions that dont' work. refined sugars and grains (such as white flour) feed candida (an overgrowth of yeast in the body). you can check out this disease by typing candida albicans in your browser. just watch out for the charlatans trying to sell products that don't work well. look for a naturopath doctor who knows what candida is and is welling to test for it.

diet. that is the key. most people, including children, have eczema problems because of something in their diet that they are allergic to. if you have this problem, try eliminating, gluten (check all food products that may have it), pasteurized dairy (raw diary is much less problematic), refined sugars, including fake sweeteners, table salt (unrefined salt is actually healthy). eating vegetables and fruits versus processed foods will help heal quickly. if you can afford organic meats, much, much better. nitrates in processed deli meats are an absolute health hazard. don't take antibiotics except in urgent cases, and if you have to, take probiotics also.

my dermatologist suggested an overnight treatment where you put whatever creams/lotions/ointment on immediately after taking a shower. you put damp clothes on then another layer, with dry clothes. you sleep in it. i've had eczema for years and i've cleared up recently, but now i have tiny scars all over :(

i forgot to mention that i use tea tree oil on my sons's skin to dry up the red puffy spots. i also use emu oil to moisturize his skin. emu oil thickens the skin that is thinned out by eczema. just as a side note: when i started my son on probiotics his skin quit getting bloody and infected. we used nature's way primadolphilus in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. best wishes...

if you have eczema i recommend you see a naturopthic doctor. my son is 2 1/2 and he suffered for a long time before we figured out what was going on with him. the naturopathic doctor did an allergy test on him, increased his vitamins and prescribed fish oils. the naturopathic doctor said that eczema is due in part to the bodies inability to absorb vital nutrients. i also use grandpa's pine tar soap at bath time for him.

my son has cradle cap and dry skin since baby.i have applied creams from the dermatologist and it got better for a while. when he was 4 yrs old he had severe skin itchiness associated with dry skin. it appears from small red rashes and when he scratches it would bleed. i wipe the areas with solution before applying creams. now, he is 7 yrs old and he still has some dry itchy flakes like dandruff on his scalp. his body is full of black marks. when he scratches it bleeds and it appears like a wound. he's taking some tablet and cream for it. doc says it's due to infection but i'm suprised when suddenly pus develop on the areas. can anyone tell why there's pus? i could not get a satisfying answers from the doc. pls help.

my son is 2 months old and he has infantile eczema. i changed his formula from similac advance to nutramigen. he's enjoying the milk however i thought that was breaking him up. it wasn't that. i tried cetaphil lotion and that didn't help either. he's now under a body oil called derma smooth that was suggested by a dermatologist on the island. that is working on him really well. however, i need to keep in mind that our bedding etc may be the cause of that as well. but the dermatologist informed us that he will grow out of it. when i put him on the bed, i'll need to put something under him so the bedding won't affect his skin.

hi everyone, i have been living w/ eczema for way over 20 yrs. i've tried everything from steroids to antibiotics to all the creams one can find. i found that actually all they do is harm me internally. after 20 yrs i knew that putting stuff externally wasn't goign to help and that i had an internal problem. i did some extensive research and i found out that i have an imbalance of good bacteria in my intestines. has to do w/ yeast ( candida ) in my intestines. of course, no doctor told me this because they did not know the cause. since finding this out i have tried taking probiotics and eliminating sugars, fried foods, carbohydrates and salt from my diet ( which is almost all the food u'll find in the stores except veggies and fruits). but this diet has kept the eczema down.
